These days, even really old and unusual games are being re-released, and that includes some famously strange titles from the SEGA CD, like Night Trap.
It’s surprising to see Slam City with Scottie Pippen – an older basketball game featuring the Chicago Bulls player – getting a release for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, especially considering how it was received when it first came out.
Coming in 2026 from Screaming Villains, this game is largely like watching a movie, but with a unique catch: you’re playing a one-on-one basketball game at the same time.

Throughout the game, you’ll face off against five different opponents, all shown in realistic, video footage. These include characters named Fingers, Juice, Mad Dog, Smash, and even the famous Scottie Pippen.
Since Limited Run Games is involved, we can anticipate a variety of special physical copies being offered in addition to the digital version, and details should be revealed next year.
We haven’t tried this game ourselves, and we doubt it stays fun for very long after the initial excitement wears off.
We really appreciate efforts to preserve older games, and it’s fantastic to see these forgotten titles from the 90s available on today’s consoles and computers.
