Dr. Terry Dubrow Calls Out Jillian Michaels in Mic-Drop Moment

Dr. Terry Dubrow isn’t letting anyone botch his reputation.

The co-host of Botched shared that he actually became a certified obesity expert simply to challenge Jillian Michaels, especially with weight loss medications becoming more common.

Terry revealed on the October 28th episode of the Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey podcast that he had a major disagreement with Jillian Michaels. He explained that when certain medications were first released, she strongly criticized them, arguing that people should focus on diet and exercise instead, due to the potential side effects.

He strongly criticized the former Biggest Loser trainer’s statements, explaining that people shouldn’t take health advice from personal trainers, especially when dealing with a serious condition like obesity.

Terry, a highly qualified plastic surgeon and member of the American College of Surgeons, established his expertise before sharing his opinions.

I was worried Jillian Michaels might dismiss my expertise, thinking, ‘You’re just a plastic surgeon, what do you know about obesity treatment?’ Even though I’m a doctor, I decided to get certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine specifically to avoid that kind of reaction,” the 67-year-old explained to host Harry Jowsey.

And he was willing to put in the time.

Terry, who earned his certification from the American Board of Obesity Medicine in November 2024, explained that he spent a year studying and completing all the required courses. He was pleased to report he scored in the 94th percentile.

He strongly asserted his expertise in obesity medications and treatment, and recalled once telling Jillian, ‘If you want to offer medical advice, you should consider taking the MCAT and attending medical school.’

TopMob News has reached out to reps for Jillian for comment and has not yet heard back.

The personal trainer did mention worries about potential side effects from drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro, but Terry pointed out that these medications aren’t actually new – they’ve just recently gained a lot of attention.

He explained that these medications have been used to treat diabetes for 14 years, meaning doctors are well aware of their potential side effects. He emphasized that they aren’t new; they’re long-established treatments for diabetes.

He drew a parallel between the weight loss drugs GLP-1 and tirzepatide and Botox, pointing out that Botox was originally developed to treat eye problems for decades before becoming well-known as a cosmetic treatment. He explained that a similar pattern was unfolding with Ozempic.

In January 2024, Bobby addressed speculation about a disagreement with Tan, following his announcement in November 2023 that he was leaving Queer Eye after eight seasons. (Bobby is shown second from the left in the picture.)

He assured Vanity Fair that he and Tan are doing okay. He explained they went through a personal issue, but it’s separate from their work on the show and wasn’t a romantic matter. He wanted to make that clear.

Okay, so this whole thing has been driving me crazy! Apparently, back in March 2024, Tan had to address these rumors that he was trying to get Jeremiah Brent to take Bobby’s place on Queer Eye! Can you believe it? It just doesn’t seem like him, but the accusations were flying around and he actually had to respond. It’s just…ugh, the drama!

Netflix and the production team held extensive auditions. I didn’t recommend my friend for the role, but they ultimately landed it because they were the most qualified. I also want to clarify that I didn’t help them get the part by having anyone else removed from consideration, as he explained in an Instagram post.

After years of speculation about a conflict between them, Holly Marie Combs, Shannen’s former co-star on Charmed, revealed on her December 2023 podcast, Let’s Be Clear, that Alyssa Milano supposedly gave a show producer an ultimatum: choose between her and Shannen. Combs claims this led to Shannen leaving the show in 2001.

In a February 2024 Instagram post, Alyssa stated she couldn’t get anyone fired and claimed that stories about this event from the past were simply inaccurate retellings.

Shannen recently stated at a MegaCon Orlando panel that, to her knowledge, the story as it was originally told remains accurate and hasn’t been changed or rewritten.

Shannen passed away in July 2024 after a yearslong battle with cancer.

During a September 2023 game of “Stir the Pot” with her daughter, Kelly Osbourne, on TopMob News, Sharon Osbourne revealed that actor Danny Masterson, known from “That ’70s Show,” was the rudest celebrity she’d ever encountered. She described him as a very rude and unpleasant person.

He did not respond to her remarks publicly.

Five years ago, Sharon shared with Larry King that Ashton seemed annoyed when he was a guest on The Talk in 2014, after she mispronounced his name.

I remember him asking me, completely out of the blue, what I even was and what I’d accomplished in this business. Honestly, my immediate reaction was pretty fierce! I basically told him, ‘Look, don’t even try it with me, because I’ll completely destroy you.’ I wanted to make it crystal clear he had no idea who he was messing with.

In August 2022, Cassadee Pope and Maren Morris clashed with Brittany Aldean, the wife of country singer Jason Aldean, after Brittany posted a video on Instagram. In the video, posted on August 23rd, Brittany thanked her parents for not allowing her to transition genders during a phase where she preferred traditionally masculine interests, adding that she enjoyed being feminine.

In a 2022 TikTok trend, JoJo Siwa called Candace Cameron Bure the “rudest” celebrity she’d met, explaining that Bure once turned down her request for a photo on the red carpet. Shortly after, Cameron Bure apologized, saying she regretted hurting Siwa’s feelings when she was younger and that she was truly sorry for not taking the picture.

Candace and the other person resolved their differences. However, when asked months later if her network, Great American Family, would ever feature same-sex couples as the main characters in its holiday movies, she said it wouldn’t, explaining that the network would continue to focus on traditional marriage.

As a big supporter of JoJo, I was really upset to see the actress’s comment. JoJo, who bravely shared they’re part of the LGBTQ+ community back in 2021, rightfully called it out as rude and deeply hurtful to so many people – our whole community, really.

In June 2021, Courtney Love claimed Olivia Rodrigo had copied the album cover art for Hole in a promotional photo without giving credit. Olivia responded with a simple, “Love u and live through this sooooo much.” Courtney then playfully replied, “Olivia – you’re welcome. My favorite florist is in Notting Hill, London! DM me for details! I look forward to reading your note [winking face emoji].”

While on Watch What Happens Live, the Happy Days actor explained why he and the Forrest Gump star didn’t get along while filming their 1989 movie, Turner & Hooch.

I directed the movie for thirteen days, and then Jeff Katzenberg, the producer, called me into his office and told me to pack up and go home, as I had everything I needed with me.

Winkler and Hanks’ dog seemed to hit it off. “I really loved that dog,” Winkler said, “We got along great.”

He also refused to admit if he’s even seen the flick.

“You know what you did!”

Anyone who watched The Hills probably remembers that famous line from Lauren on the show’s third season premiere. The drama started when Heidi began dating her future husband, Spencer Pratt, and really exploded when Lauren claimed Heidi and Spencer spread a false rumor about her and Jason Wahler making a sex tape.

Tyrese and Dwayne Johnson had another public disagreement after the release date for Fast & Furious 9 was moved to April 2020. On the same day, a spin-off movie featuring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham was announced, slated for release in 2019. Shortly after, Tyrese said he would leave Fast 9 if Dwayne Johnson was still involved.

Tyrese recently discussed the conflict with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, telling Van Lathan on The Red Pill podcast that they still haven’t spoken directly, though he hopes to. He mentioned he did talk to one of Johnson’s producing partners, but not Johnson himself.

Tyrese admitted he shouldn’t have publicly shared frustrations he heard from others connected to the film series. He explained he was the one who spoke out, and he takes responsibility for that, saying it wasn’t professional or a good look.

No more bad blood here.

Taylor Swift and Katy Perry had a long-running public disagreement, supposedly even influencing Swift’s song “Bad Blood.” The conflict, which began with issues over a shared backup dancer and rivalry during concert tours, was resolved when Perry sent Swift an olive branch as a peace offering before Swift’s Reputation Tour began.

Taylor shared in an Instagram video that she found a real olive branch in her dressing room, saying it meant a lot to her.

Taylor captioned the video, “Thank you Katy.”

For years, Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker, stars of Sex and the City, dismissed rumors of a disagreement. However, those rumors resurfaced when Kim chose not to participate in a third movie and made some pointed comments about her co-star.

During a September 2017 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen asked Sarah Jessica Parker how she felt about Kim Cattrall telling Piers Morgan that they were just coworkers and not friends.

She was deeply upset, explaining she was “just heartbroken.” They had talked about it all week, and she found it really distressing because her memory of what happened was completely different.

It’s definitely sad, but I believe what truly connected us was the shared experience we all had. It started as a professional project, but over the years, it became something deeply personal. I’m hoping that those years of working on something special, and the connections we built, will outweigh any recent disagreements. It was a real privilege to be a part of something so meaningful for so long.

And though they didn’t film scenes together, Kim did make a small appearance on And Just Like That.

Elton John and Madonna have been publicly disagreeing since 2004. The conflict began when Elton, while accepting an award at the Q Awards that year, strongly criticized Madonna’s live performances. He questioned her being named ‘best live act,’ suggesting she relied on lip-syncing and implying that performers who do so should face consequences, given the cost of concert tickets.

The actress, formerly known for her role on Grey’s Anatomy, caused a disagreement with the show’s creator back in 2008 when she asked to be removed from Emmy Award consideration. She explained her decision by saying she didn’t believe the storylines she was given were strong enough to earn a nomination.

Shonda Rhimes discussed Katherine Heigl’s departure in a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey on Oprah’s Next Chapter. She admitted it was both hurtful and predictable, explaining, “When people show you who they are, believe them.” Rhimes added that she’s taken this lesson to heart and found it to be very valuable.

The fight between Nicki and Cardi at the Harper’s Bazaar Icon party during New York Fashion Week made headlines everywhere. A month later, Cardi explained what started the argument with Nicki.

Cardi B recently told W magazine that another person has been repeatedly criticizing her. They had talked twice before and seemed to resolve things, but the criticism continued.

The conflict truly escalated when Cardi B noticed Nicki Minaj had supposedly reacted to a tweet criticizing Cardi’s parenting, though Nicki claims she didn’t actually engage with it.

Cardi B explained that she chose to be with her daughter instead of pursuing a potentially very profitable Bruno Mars tour. She emphasized how much she loves her daughter and considers herself a dedicated mother. She responded to criticism about a recent public encounter with another artist, stating that opportunities to meet artists casually are rare, and she wouldn’t pass up such a chance just because of where it happened.

The conflict between Kanye West and Taylor Swift began in 2009 when he interrupted her acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards. They later reconciled and became friends, but their relationship fell apart in 2016 after Kanye released his song “Famous,” which mentioned Taylor by name.

Just before the Grammys in February 2025, Kanye West began following only Taylor Swift on Instagram. He didn’t offer any explanation for the action, and Swift didn’t publicly acknowledge it.

“I don’t know her.”

The supposed rivalry between Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez has been talked about for over 15 years. It began during an interview where Mariah was asked about other singers, and when asked about Jennifer, she simply stated, “I don’t know her.”
