We’ve seen this especially with indie horror games, many of which have gained devoted followings recently. A prime example is Poppy Playtime, a survival horror puzzle game released in 2021. Developed by Mob Entertainment, the game initially offered its first chapter as a free demo to draw players into its frightening world. Now, even more content is on the way with a brand-new downloadable expansion.
Mob Entertainment first released Poppy Playtime in 2021, and has since added three new downloadable content (DLC) chapters that continue the game’s story. These DLCs, which cost between $9.99 and $19.99, delve deeper into the lore of the spooky toy factory. The latest chapter, Chapter 4, came out in January, and now Mob Entertainment has officially announced that the story will continue with a new teaser trailer for Poppy Playtime Chapter 5.
Poppy Playtime Reveals Chapter 5 DLC With New Teaser Trailer
Just in time for Halloween, Mob Entertainment announced the next installment in the Poppy Playtime series: Chapter 5. This new downloadable content continues the story immediately after the events of Chapter 4, plunging players back into the scary world of the abandoned Playtime Co. factory. The DLC also includes some improvements to enhance the gameplay experience. You can watch the spooky new teaser trailer below to get a first look!
As you may have seen, the creepy atmosphere and exciting tension are back in the newest Poppy Playtime chapter. This expansion takes you to a previously unseen part of the Playtime Co. factory, where you’ll continue to uncover its terrifying secrets. You’ll meet new and frightening creatures who could either assist or hinder your efforts to stop The Prototype.
The update includes fresh puzzles and challenges for players. Your GrabPack will gain new tools and abilities to assist you, though the game won’t be a walk in the park! In Chapter 5 of Poppy Playtime, you’ll discover the dark secrets at the core of Playtime Co., potentially revealing the truth behind the company’s actions as you progress through this exciting new chapter.
The release date for Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5 hasn’t been announced yet, but you can add it to your wishlist on Steam and the Epic Games Store to be notified when it’s released. Currently, Poppy Playtime chapters 1-4 are available on PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. The first chapter is free to play, and the rest are available for purchase as downloadable content.
