This year’s South Park Halloween special continued the show’s tradition of tackling controversial topics, which has recently generated a lot of attention. The episode playfully satirized the current U.S. government while also revisiting the ongoing struggles of the Marsh family. In a funny turn of events, Stan and his friends find a solution to their money troubles, unexpectedly paving the way for the return of a character who hasn’t been seen on the show for decades.
Please be aware that this discussion contains spoilers for South Park’s latest Halloween special, “The Woman in the Hat.” After leaving Tegridy Farms, Stan learns his family will be living with his grandfather in a retirement home. To improve their situation and earn money quickly, Stan, Kyle, and Kenny create a cryptocurrency called “South Park Sucks Now.” To help promote their new coin, they enlist the help of Kyle’s long-absent cousin, Kyle Schwartz, a surprising return after decades away from the show.
South Park Sucks Now

The recent “South Park” episode cleverly poked fun at itself with a fictional cryptocurrency called “South Park Sucks Now.” Throughout the Halloween special, the characters talk about how the show has shifted its focus from their everyday adventures to more political storylines. Stan even points out that Kenny hasn’t spoken in months, leading to a rare outburst from the usually silent character. Meanwhile, Kyle is dealing with a difficult situation at the White House as the boys grapple with these changes.
To promote his cryptocurrency, Schwartz has a meeting with the White House and participates in a Halloween séance to investigate a haunting in the Oval Office. However, Kyle’s cousin is wrongly accused of any mishaps and receives a ten-year prison sentence, likely meaning Schwartz won’t be back for a while. The story ends on a funny note, with Stan appearing to come to terms with life in the retirement home, even joining in on exercises – a clear reference to the movie The Shining.
There are only three episodes left in this season of South Park, and they won’t air every week. The final episodes of Season Twenty-Eight will premiere on November 12th, November 26th, and December 10th. The good news is that South Park has been renewed for multiple future seasons, which will arrive annually, so fans won’t have to wait long for the show to return after this season’s finale this winter.
