A new trailer for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle has been released, but unfortunately, there’s disappointing news about streaming availability for the rest of the year. The latest Demon Slayer film has been incredibly successful, becoming one of the highest-grossing anime films ever in Japan and the most successful international film released in U.S. theaters. Due to its popularity, the film will remain in cinemas for the foreseeable future.
The movie Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle has been a big hit in Japanese theaters since its release this summer. Fans have been eager to find out when they could watch it online or buy it on DVD or Blu-ray. A new trailer revealed that the film will remain exclusively in theaters until 2025, meaning it won’t be available to stream or purchase digitally until at least 2026.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Is Exclusive to Theaters in 2025
The movie Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle is doing incredibly well in theaters and will likely stay there for an extended run. Mitchel Berger, a Crunchyroll executive, recently emphasized to fans that this film won’t be available anywhere else in 2025, so seeing it in theaters is the only option for those who want to watch it.
The latest trailer officially confirms the movie will only be shown in theaters in 2025, meaning fans will have to wait at least until next year to watch it. This is proving difficult for some, as the film is playing in fewer theaters now, with other new releases from Sony and Crunchyroll taking its place. As a result, many fans might not get a chance to see it until the new release next year.
What Does This Mean for Demon Slayer’s Future?
The biggest impact of this news, for me, is what it suggests about the future of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba movies. We still don’t have any idea when the second film will come out, and I don’t expect we’ll hear anything about it soon. Since the first movie is playing in theaters for the rest of the year, I’m guessing we won’t get any updates on the next one until 2026, which probably means it won’t actually be released for quite a while after that.
Considering the first movie had a year-long promotional campaign, we can expect a similar amount of teasers, pictures, and trailers for the next film before it’s released in theaters. If you also consider the time needed to promote the first film’s home release, it looks like the next movie won’t arrive until 2027.
