Persona 5 Games Won’t Stop Selling, Series Tops 13 Million Sales

The Persona 5 series – including the original game, the enhanced version Persona 5 Royal, and its various spin-off titles – has now sold over 13 million copies worldwide.

SEGA’s recent business report details this information in a section specifically about the Persona series.

The publisher previously announced that the Persona 5 series had sold 10 million copies by 2023, and it has since sold an additional 3 million, bringing the total to 13 million.

Persona 5 has become incredibly popular – it’s Atlus’s most successful game by far. It’s no surprise they’re continuing to release new content and spin-offs!

This report doesn’t explain the total of 13 million sales in detail, but we can get an idea of how well each book performed based on earlier reports.

Recently, it was revealed that the games Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal have collectively sold almost 10.5 million copies.

Combined sales for the Persona 5 spin-off games – Dancing in Starlight, Strikers, and Tactica – total around 2.5 million copies.

In addition, Persona 5 Strikers sold 2 million copies in 2023. Compared to that success, the sales of Persona Dancing and the newer Persona Tactica were considerably lower.

Given Persona 5’s continued success, it makes you question if SEGA and Atlus will ever stop creating content related to the game.

Currently, Atlus isn’t working on any new Persona 5 games or projects, except for the mobile game Persona 5: The Phantom X, which is being developed by a different company.

Persona 5 has been incredibly popular – what are your thoughts on its success? Do you want to see another Persona 5 game, or should the series move forward with Persona 6? Let us know what you think in the comments!
