It’s challenging to launch a new free-to-play action RPG, especially with so many similar games already available, but Everstone Studio’s Where Winds Meet is getting a good reception before it even launches. The game, which is inspired by Wuxia culture, has already received over seven million pre-registrations and will be released worldwide on November 14th.
The game quickly became popular in China after its PC release, racking up over three million downloads in just four days. Although the number of people who signed up beforehand doesn’t guarantee that many will keep playing, it clearly shows a lot of excitement for the game.
Coming to PS5 and PC from NetEase Games, Where Winds Meet is set in tenth-century China during a turbulent period of history known as the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms. Players take on the role of a mysterious hero, beginning their adventure by exploring a chaotic world and honing their combat abilities.
The game offers a lot to do besides fighting, including exploring wildlife and participating in fun side activities like sumo wrestling. You can find more details in our preview of the final closed beta, which explains why this game feels completely new and different.
💥 7 MILLION pre-registrations. Thank you!#WhereWindsMeet
