Emmerdale actors Ryan Hawley and Chris Coghill say the storyline involving their characters’ love triangle will end with a lot of drama.
Robert Sugden, played by Hawley, recently married Kev Townsend (Coghill) while both were in prison. We’ll be seeing more of their relationship and Robert’s experiences behind bars, and viewers are eager to find out what happens next with this unexpected plotline.
Robert is planning to reaffirm his commitment to Kev, but his former husband and true love, Aaron Dingle, gives him a stark choice: proceed with the vow renewal, and their chance at reconciliation is over.

“Something very dramatic,” Coghill immediately picked up. “But we can’t say, yeah.”
Just how will Aaron fare in what’s to come?
Adding a surprising twist, Hawley also promised the event would be exciting and adventurous.
After considering that surprising reveal, Hawley was asked what his first thoughts were when he learned Robert had a secret spouse.

He was surprised to learn his husband was in prison, finding out only when someone on the set mentioned he’d be involved in the project. He said his initial reaction was simply, ‘What?’
Meeting Chris was something I approached with a bit of hesitation. It’s always tricky working closely with someone new, and it seemed like everyone already had a connection with him – he was friends with so many people.
Hawley, who recently returned to Emmerdale and delighted viewers, has nothing but good things to say about his new colleague and is excited for people to enjoy watching their character, Kev.

Meeting him was great, and we had some really wonderful scenes together – he was fantastic, and I was genuinely thrilled with how it all went.
I’m really curious to see what audiences think of this new character – I believe it’s fantastic and a wonderful addition to the show.
