Sarah Paulson, known for her role in American Horror Story, shared that she didn’t particularly enjoy one season of the show, despite its popularity with many viewers. She simply didn’t connect with that installment.
During an appearance on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live, Sarah Paulson was asked which season of American Horror Story she liked the least. She was initially reluctant to answer, noting that many fans enjoyed it. Ultimately, though, she confessed that Roanoke was the one season of the twelve she’d rather have skipped.
Roanoke is the sixth season of this horror series. It’s based on the true story of the Roanoke colony – now known as the Outer Banks of North Carolina – which disappeared between 1587 and 1590. The season began with a ‘mockumentary’ called My Roanoke Nightmare, telling the story of a couple experiencing strange, supernatural events in their North Carolina home.
The second part of the series, called Return to Roanoke: Three Days in Hell, was presented as if it were discovered footage from a film shoot. It featured the actors from the first documentary, and like other seasons of American Horror Story, things quickly became frighteningly real as the cast started experiencing what seemed like genuine supernatural events, making it hard to tell what was acting and what wasn’t.
The series Roanoke brought back many familiar faces from American Horror Story, including Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Lily Rabe, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Denis O’Hare, Wes Bentley, and Cheyenne Jackson. It also introduced new cast members Cuba Gooding Jr. and Andre Holland to the show.
During a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, it was revealed that Andy Cohen and Sarah Paulson were both surprised to learn that Ryan Murphy had already announced the cast for the next season of American Horror Story. Cohen asked Paulson if she’d ever consider returning to the show, and she said she would. When he pressed her about whether she’d be in the upcoming season, she playfully responded, “Maybe.”
