The Pokemon Company caused some upset when they announced the first downloadable content for Pokemon Legends: Z-A before the game was even out. Many fans were disappointed to learn that new Mega Evolution Pokemon would be locked behind a paywall before they could even explore the game’s main city. Now that a lot of players are finishing the main story of Pokemon Legends: Z-A, interest in the Mega Dimension DLC is growing. To capitalize on this, Pokemon has released a new trailer with more details about the upcoming content.
When Mega Dimension was first shown, most of the focus was on Hoopa and the new Mega Raichu. This made fans curious about how much new story content the Pokemon Legends: Z-A DLC would actually include. However, the trailer released today makes it clear that the December 10th update will add a significant amount of story to the Lumiose City setting.
New Mega Dimension Trailer Confirms Story DLC Is Coming Sooner Than We Thought
When Mega Dimension was announced, the Nintendo eShop initially listed a February release for its new story content. However, a recent trailer from The Pokémon Company revealed a much earlier release date and more details about the expansion. The new story content for Mega Dimension will now be available on December 10th, and it appears to be more substantial than originally anticipated. You can check out the trailer to get a preview of what’s coming.
The latest trailer reveals a surprising amount of new content, making it clear this DLC is more substantial than originally thought. Players will encounter two new characters: Asha, a chef who brings donuts and accompanies the Pokémon Hoopa, and Korrina, a trainer joining Team MZ to investigate the mysteries of Hyperspace Lumiose.
The next update will take us to a mysterious alternate version of Lumiose City, filled with new puzzles to uncover. Plus, we’re getting more than just a new location! In addition to the already announced Mega Raichu, this downloadable content will introduce at least two more Mega Pokémon: Mega Chimecho and Mega Baxcalibur. That brings the total number of Mega Pokémon available to at least four, adding to the 26 already in the original game.

New story content for Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be available on December 10th, but you’ll need to finish the main story first. If you’re still playing and want to understand what’s happening in Hyperspace and the Mega Dimension, make sure to complete the game before December 10th to be prepared.
The Mega Dimension DLC is now available on Switch and Switch 2 for $29.99. When you purchase it, you’ll instantly get the Holo-X and Holo-Y outfits. The story content will be released on December 10th. As a bonus for early buyers, you can also get a special set of Luxurious Poke Balls, which includes 3 Fast Balls, 3 Lure Balls, 3 Level Balls, and 3 Heavy Balls.
