7 MCU Characters Least Likely To Die In Avengers: Doomsday

Even though Avengers: Doomsday promises a dramatic and dangerous story, some Marvel Cinematic Universe characters are probably safe. The MCU remains one of the biggest movie franchises ever, and it’s building toward the end of its current big storyline, the Multiverse Saga. By introducing the idea of the multiverse, the MCU has expanded greatly, and this will all come to a head in the two-part finale: Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

With the release of Doomsday nearing, it’s becoming apparent that the film will significantly shape the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This has sparked rumors about potential character deaths in Avengers: Doomsday, with several established heroes considered at risk in the 2026 film. However, some characters seem protected from this fate, as ending their storylines now would feel pointless and rely solely on shocking the audience.

7) She-Hulk

It’s still uncertain what the future holds for She-Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and she hasn’t quite found her niche yet. After appearing in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, her role in the MCU, especially leading into Avengers: Doomsday, remains undefined. Because her story is just starting, many believe She-Hulk is unlikely to die in the upcoming movie, though the show’s less-than-stellar reception means it’s not impossible.

6) Ant-Man

Ant-Man is a rare Avenger who’s been important in both the major story arcs of the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far – the Infinity Saga and the current Multiverse Saga – which suggests he’s a fairly safe character. While he’s been a hero in the MCU for a long time, he’s often played a supporting role, making a fatal outcome seem less probable, especially given how popular Paul Rudd is as Ant-Man. Still, anything can happen in the MCU, so it’s not impossible that Ant-Man could die in Avengers: Doomsday.

5) Yelena Belova

Even though Yelena Belova isn’t the strongest member of the Thunderbolts team, she’s become a well-known hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After her sister’s death in Avengers: Endgame, she’s taken on the role of the new Black Widow, and her story has been developing throughout the Multiverse Saga. Because the previous Black Widow died permanently in the Infinity Saga, it seems unlikely Yelena will meet the same fate in Doomsday, especially since her story arc is still ongoing.

4) Ironheart

Riri Williams, also known as Ironheart, first appeared in 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Her recent solo TV show received mixed reactions, but she’s quickly become known as a brilliant inventor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, able to build advanced technology similar to Iron Man’s, even with simple materials. Since her story is still developing and she’s already a key part of the MCU, it’s unlikely Ironheart will die in Avengers: Doomsday.

3) Ms. Marvel

I’m a huge Ms. Marvel fan, and I’m so glad she’s become a big part of the MCU! After getting her own Disney+ show, she showed up in The Marvels and it was hinted she’s building the Young Avengers. Considering she’s leading this new team and is one of Marvel’s most important young heroes, I really don’t think they’re going to kill her off in Avengers: Doomsday. It just doesn’t make sense to me!

2) Shang-Chi

Since the release of Avengers: Endgame, Shang-Chi has quickly become one of the MCU’s strongest heroes. Though he hasn’t been seen in a Marvel movie since his first solo film, it’s confirmed he’ll be part of Doomsday. As a promising new addition to the Avengers, Shang-Chi seems destined for a significant role in Avengers: Doomsday, and his story within the MCU is just getting started with a lot of potential.

1) Reed Richards

Reed Richards, also known as Mr. Fantastic, finally joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, though he previously had a quick appearance in a Multiverse film. Pedro Pascal will reprise the role in Avengers: Doomsday, and it’s confirmed his character won’t be killed off. Considering fans waited years to see him and he’s expected to be a key hero in future MCU stories, it wouldn’t make sense to eliminate him now. It appears Reed Richards is a safe character within the current Multiverse Saga.
