SZA is hitting snooze on the Nicki Minaj chatter.
Only three months after the rapper, known for the song “Feeling Myself,” publicly criticized SZA’s looks and success, SZA is now sharing her side of the story.
SZA recently told GQ magazine that she has no relationship with the person people think she does. She explained there’s no history between them and she doesn’t understand how the rumors started. She feels it’s not her responsibility to correct a story she isn’t involved in.
She added, “It was a little strange. It was very like, ‘Why?’ But also, you know, ‘I guess.’”
In July, Nicki Minaj criticized SZA, claiming SZA was indirectly shading her on Twitter. This followed Nicki’s public complaints about Punch, a fellow artist signed to SZA’s label.
Nicki Minaj subtly referenced SZA on X (formerly Twitter), telling someone to ‘go draw your freckles back on,’ which many interpreted as a dig at the singer.
Nicki Minaj continued the discussion on Twitter, and then seemed to challenge the achievements and success of SZA’s career.
Okay, so I’ve been following this situation, and honestly, it’s a little frustrating to see. Another artist just dropped a deluxe version of an album that’s already been out for a while – we’re talking a year or two! – seemingly to boost the original album’s numbers and break records. As someone who values authenticity, it feels… insecure, and frankly, a little lacking in integrity. I really thought she was a true artist, but this move? It just doesn’t sit right with me. It’s a ‘girl, bye’ moment, you know?

Rather than directly respond to Nicki Minaj, SZA opted for a general statement after fans cautioned her about potential backlash from Nicki’s devoted fanbase, the Barbz.
SZA recently shared on X that despite facing constant online harassment, she receives incredible support from fans at her concerts. She emphasized that her life is good – her parents are healthy and she’s achieved a high level of success – and urged people to gain some perspective and stop focusing on negativity.
SZA also got caught in the middle of the public dispute between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. Although she’s worked with both artists—and often collaborates with Kendrick—she wants to stay out of the drama.
SZA explained to GQ that she didn’t want to get involved in a disagreement between two adults, saying, ‘It was a matter between them, and I didn’t feel it was my place to interfere.’ She added that she believed most people felt the same way, except for those who disagreed.
Okay, so like, I wasn’t directly involved, you know? But Kendrick is everything to me – I’m on TDE, it’s my family! And I’ve known Drake forever, we have such a good connection. It just breaks my heart whenever there’s drama, honestly. It’s always sad when things go wrong with people you care about.

In January 2024, Bobby addressed speculation about a disagreement with Tan, following his announcement in November 2023 that he was leaving Queer Eye after eight seasons. (Bobby is pictured second from left.)
He assured Vanity Fair that he and Tan are doing okay. He explained they went through a personal issue, but it’s separate from their work on the show and wasn’t a romantic matter. He just wanted to make that clear.
In March 2024, Tan addressed claims that he tried to get his friend Jeremiah Brent to replace Bobby on the show Queer Eye.
Netflix and the production team held extensive auditions. I didn’t recommend my friend for the role, but they ultimately landed it because they were the most qualified. I also want to be clear that I didn’t help them get the part by having anyone else removed from consideration, as he explained on Instagram.

After years of speculation about a conflict between them, Holly Marie Combs, Shannen Doherty’s former co-star on Charmed, revealed on her December 2023 podcast, Let’s Be Clear, that Alyssa Milano supposedly gave a show producer an ultimatum: choose between her and Shannen. Combs claims this led to Shannen leaving the show in 2001.
In a February 2024 Instagram post, Alyssa stated she couldn’t have gotten anyone fired and claimed that any current accounts of the events were simply inaccurate retellings of something that happened a long time ago.
At a MegaCon Orlando panel, Shannen stated that, to her knowledge, the true story of what happened hasn’t been altered or rewritten. She emphasized that the facts remain as they originally occurred.
Shannen passed away in July 2024 after a yearslong battle with cancer.

During a September 2023 game of “Stir the Pot” with her daughter Kelly Osbourne on TopMob News, Sharon Osbourne revealed that she considered Topher Grace, known for his role in “That ’70s Show,” to be the rudest celebrity she’d ever encountered. She described him as a “rude little boy” and a “dastardly little thing.”
He did not respond to her remarks publicly.
Five years ago, Sharon shared with Larry King that Ashton seemed upset during his 2014 appearance on The Talk after she mispronounced his name.
She remembered him asking, ‘Who are you and what have you accomplished in this business?’ She said she responded with a fierce warning: ‘Don’t underestimate me, young man, because I will completely destroy you.’ She finished by telling him, ‘You have no idea who you’re talking to.’

In August 2022, Cassadee Pope and Maren Morris publicly disagreed with Brittany Aldean, the wife of country singer Jason Aldean. This followed a post Brittany made on Instagram on August 23rd, where she thanked her parents for not allowing her to transition during a phase where she preferred traditionally masculine interests, and expressed her appreciation for a traditionally feminine lifestyle.

In a 2022 TikTok trend, JoJo Siwa called Candace Cameron Bure the “rudest” celebrity she’d ever met, explaining that Bure once declined to pose for a photo with her on a red carpet, which hurt her feelings. Soon after, Cameron Bure apologized publicly, saying she regretted not taking a picture with Siwa when she was eleven years old and that she felt bad about it.
Candace and the other person resolved their differences. However, when asked months later if her network, Great American Family, would ever feature same-sex couples as the main characters in its holiday films, she said it wouldn’t, explaining that the network will continue to focus on traditional marriage.
JoJo, who publicly shared they are part of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021, said on Instagram that the actress’s remark was offensive and caused pain to many people.

In June 2021, Courtney Love claimed that Olivia Rodrigo had copied the album cover art of her band, Hole, for a promotional photo without proper credit. Olivia responded with a message of support, saying, “Love u and live through this sooooo much.” Courtney then playfully replied, thanking Olivia and offering to share the contact information for her favorite florist in London if Olivia messaged her directly.

While on Watch What Happens Live, the Happy Days actor explained the reason for his difficult relationship with the Forrest Gump star during filming of their 1989 movie, Turner & Hooch.
I directed the movie for thirteen days, and then Jeff Katzenberg, the producer, called me into his office and told me to pack up and go home, as I had everything I needed.
Winkler and Hanks’ dog seemed to get along very well. “I really loved that dog,” Winkler said.
He also refused to admit if he’s even seen the flick.

“You know what you did!”
Anyone who watched The Hills probably remembers that famous line from Lauren, spoken at the start of season three. The drama between her and Heidi began when Heidi started dating her future husband, Spencer Pratt. It really exploded when Lauren claimed Heidi and Spencer spread a false rumor about her and Jason Wahler making a sex tape.

Tyrese and Dwayne Johnson had another public disagreement after the release date for Fast & Furious 9 was moved to April 2020. On the same day, a spin-off movie featuring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham was announced, scheduled for 2019. Shortly after, Tyrese said he would leave Fast 9 if Dwayne Johnson was still involved.
As a long-time fan, it was really interesting to hear Tyrese finally talk about what happened with The Rock on ‘The Red Pill’ podcast with Van Lathan. He said they still haven’t spoken directly, but he does hope to have a conversation with him eventually. He mentioned he did talk to one of The Rock’s producing partners, but not The Rock himself. It’s good to hear he’s open to resolving things, even after all this time.
Tyrese admitted he shouldn’t have publicly shared frustrations he heard from others connected to the franchise. He explained he was the one who spoke out, which he now recognizes was unprofessional and a mistake. “It wasn’t cool,” he said.

No more bad blood here.
Taylor Swift and Katy Perry had a long-running public disagreement, rumored to be the inspiration behind Taylor’s song “Bad Blood.” The conflict, which supposedly began because of a disagreement over a dancer and competition between their concert tours, was resolved when Katy sent Taylor an olive branch – a symbol of peace – before Taylor’s Reputation Tour began.
Taylor shared on Instagram that she found a real olive branch in her dressing room, saying it meant a lot to her.
Taylor captioned the video, “Thank you Katy.”

For years, Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker, stars of Sex and the City, successfully avoided rumors of a disagreement. However, those rumors resurfaced when Kim chose not to participate in a third movie and made some pointed comments about her co-star.
During a September 2017 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen asked Sarah Jessica Parker how she felt about Kim Cattrall telling Piers Morgan that they were never friends, only coworkers.
She was deeply upset, saying she was just heartbroken. They had talked about it all week, and she found it really disturbing because her memory of what happened was completely different.
It’s definitely sad, but I believe what truly connects us is the unique experience we all shared. It started as a professional collaboration, but over the years it became something deeply personal. I hope that strong connection and those years of working on something special outweigh any recent disagreements. It was a privilege to be a part of something people connected with so deeply.
And though they didn’t film scenes together, Kim did make a small appearance on And Just Like That.

Elton John and Madonna have been publicly disagreeing since 2004. The conflict began when Elton, while accepting an award at the Q Awards that year, criticized Madonna’s live performances. He famously told the audience, “Madonna, best live act? Absolutely not! Lip-syncing isn’t a live performance.” He went on to say that he believed performers who lip-sync during paid concerts should face serious consequences.

The actress, formerly known for her role on Grey’s Anatomy, caused a disagreement with the show’s creator back in 2008 when she asked to be removed from Emmy Award consideration. She explained that she didn’t think the storylines she was given were strong enough to deserve a nomination.
Shonda Rhimes discussed Katherine Heigl’s departure in a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey on Oprah’s Next Chapter. She admitted it was both hurtful and expected. “I’ve learned to pay attention to how people behave,” Shonda explained. “If someone consistently shows you their true colors, you should believe it. That’s a lesson I’ve carried with me and it’s been very helpful.”

The fight between Nicki and Cardi at the Harper’s Bazaar Icon party during New York Fashion Week became a major news story. A month later, Cardi publicly explained what caused the argument with Nicki.
Cardi B recently told W magazine that another person has been repeatedly criticizing her. They had talked twice before and seemed to resolve things, but the criticism continued.
Okay, so here’s what really set everything off, as far as I could tell. Apparently, Cardi saw that Nicki might have liked a tweet – just for a second! – shading her as a mom. Nicki says she never actually liked it, but Cardi saw it, and honestly, can you blame her? That’s where things exploded, at least from what I’ve gathered. It was all about that tweet, I’m telling you!
I was set to earn a huge amount of money from my Bruno Mars tour, but I chose to stay home with my daughter instead,” Cardi B explained. “I love my daughter, and I’m a really good mom. It’s frustrating when people without kids criticize my choices. People say that wasn’t the right time or place to see another artist, but I don’t expect to run into someone famous casually, like at the grocery store or on the street.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe the drama with Kanye and Taylor! It all started way back in 2009 at the VMAs – he totally interrupted her acceptance speech, it was insane! They actually patched things up after that, and for a while, they were even friends, which I was SO happy about. But then, in 2026, everything fell apart again. He released this song, ‘Famous,’ and… well, he mentioned Taylor in it, and it just ruined everything. I was heartbroken, honestly. It was like watching a disaster unfold all over again!
Just before the Grammys in February 2025, Kanye West began following only Taylor Swift on Instagram. He didn’t offer any explanation for this action, and Swift didn’t publicly acknowledge it.

“I don’t know her.”
The supposed rivalry between Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez has been talked about for over 15 years. It began during an interview where Mariah was asked about other singers. When asked specifically about Jennifer Lopez, Mariah famously responded, “I don’t know her.”
