PlayStation and San Diego Studio just announced the next installment in the popular baseball series, MLB The Show 26. A new MLB The Show game comes out every year, and this one continues that tradition, launching after the 2006 original. The developers didn’t want fans to wait, so they’ve already shared some details about the improvements they’re making in MLB The Show 26.
In a recent PlayStation Blog post, the team behind MLB The Show 25 discussed the improvements theyâve made to the game and hinted at whatâs to come in MLB The Show 26. They described the changes in this yearâs game as only the first step, and shared that they plan to continue improving how the game feels by focusing on things like pitch movement and how the ball reacts when hit. While they also mentioned updates to modes like Diamond Dynasty, Franchise, and Road to the Show, they didnât share many details about those specific improvements just yet.

One confirmed feature returning in MLB The Show 26 is the Negro Leagues mode. This will be the fourth year in a row that the game includes stories and players from the historic Negro Leagues. While the specific players havenât been announced yet, weâll likely find out more details as the gameâs release date approaches.
As a gamer, one of the biggest questions I have about MLB The Show 26 is whether it’s finally coming to PC! The game’s been released on PlayStation, Xbox, and even Nintendo consoles, but PC players like me have always been left out. But, I recently saw a job posting from the San Diego Studio that might mean they’re working on a PC version for MLB The Show 26. Fingers crossed this is the year we finally get to play on our PCs!
We don’t have the release date or cover athlete for MLB The Show 26 yet, but expect to find out in early 2026. Keep checking back with ComicBook for updates!
