Embark Studios’ game, ARC Raiders, has been a successful launch for both the studio and the type of game it is – an extraction shooter. While the exact sales figures haven’t been released, estimates suggest strong performance. Some reports indicate around 2.1 million downloads on Steam, but Alinea Analytics estimates 2.5 million players across all platforms in its first week.
Revenue for the period is projected to be over $100 million, and PC gamers on Steam are the biggest contributors. Approximately 1.7 million players (69.2%) use Steam, followed by PlayStation 5 players with over 400,000 (17.3%), and Xbox Series X/S players with more than 300,000 (13.5%).
What’s truly remarkable about these sales numbers is that they’ve been achieved just days after the release of Battlefield: RedSec, a highly anticipated free-to-play battle royale game. Adding to this, Battlefield 6 also had a massive launch on Steam, selling over seven million copies across all platforms in just three days—and current reports suggest it’s already surpassed 10 million.
