Top creators from Netflix’s ‘Stranger Things’ have responded to recent reports about disagreements between Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour while filming the show.
Last week, the Daily Mail reported that Brown accused her co-star, Harbour, who plays her father on the show, of harassment and bullying. This claim was made before filming began for the show’s final season.
Netflix and representatives for the actors involved haven’t confirmed or denied the details of the report. It appeared as rumors circulated about Lily Allen’s new album potentially referencing problems in her marriage to David Harbour, from whom she recently divorced.
As the release of Stranger Things season 5 approaches in just a few weeks, the show’s stars and producers have been working to dispel recent rumors of on-set issues. At a premiere event last night, Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour seemed to be getting along well, appearing warm and friendly towards each other.
I was at the same screening where a reporter from The Hollywood Reporter asked Ross Duffer, one of the creators of Stranger Things, about some confusing things that had come up. They really wanted to get some clarity on the situation.
I can’t discuss specific issues that happened on set, but after working with this cast for ten years, they’re like family to us, and we genuinely care about everyone involved.
“So, you know, nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy.”
Producer Shawn Levy explained that a key part of his role is ensuring a safe and respectful environment for the entire cast and crew, and he believes he and the show’s leaders achieved that goal.
As a film lover, I believe a great set needs to be a safe and comfortable space for everyone, and that’s exactly what we aimed for on this project. We really put a lot of effort into creating that kind of environment, and honestly, I’m incredibly proud of the atmosphere we built.
Stranger Things 5 is still highly anticipated, and fans are expected to tune in for the final episodes when they are released in three parts: November 26th, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve.
