Okay, so even though EA bought BioWare and that caused some drama, it looks like things are actually going well over there! The best news? They’ve pretty much confirmed that the new Mass Effect game is still being made, which is amazing!
Mike Gamble, an executive producer at BioWare, recently shared in a blog post – part of the company’s yearly Mass Effect celebration – that development of the next Mass Effect game is continuing as planned, reassuring fans.
I’m so excited! Like a lot of fans, I’ve been hearing whispers about what’s next for Mass Effect. It’s awesome to hear directly from Gamble that a new game is actually in development! It’s such a relief to know that EA and BioWare are still dedicated to continuing the story in that universe – it means we’ll get to explore more of it, and that’s huge!
He explained that the BioWare team is currently concentrating all their efforts on Mass Effect. Unfortunately, he couldn’t share any visuals like screenshots, trailers, or gameplay footage at this time.

He playfully jokes with fans who overanalyze his tweets, though he admits that occasionally, they actually do contain hidden meanings.
Gamble shared their enthusiasm for the project they’re working on, adding that they’ll happily reveal it when it’s finished and ready to be seen, promising it will be enjoyable.
Even though specific information is scarce, this suggests BioWare may remain independent. This comes after experts predicted they could be sold, especially considering the recent deal between EA and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.
Mass Effect 5 is Still Active in Development
Despite Gamble’s comment that they don’t have much to reveal yet, we could see some significant previews or hints soon.
I was reading the blog post, and at first, I didn’t pay much attention to all the words written in italics. But then I realized if you look carefully, those italicized letters actually spell out “url krogan!” It’s a neat little hidden message.
For those familiar with the Mass Effect series, the Krogan are a well-known alien species. The meaning behind this recent development is currently unknown, but fans are already working to connect the dots and uncover its significance.

Gamble also mentioned the new Mass Effect TV show, which is being made with Amazon. Unfortunately, there aren’t many details available about it yet.
The good news is that a new Mass Effect game is likely on the way, and BioWare will probably stay a key part of Electronic Arts after the company fully takes over.
