Dramas are often big hits at the movies, but one film from the 1990s was exceptionally successful, breaking numerous records. Now, you can watch it for free! Tubi, a free streaming service, has been adding lots of new movies throughout November, and on November 1st, they included this classic, highly-regarded drama.
You can now watch James Cameron’s blockbuster film Titanic for free on Tubi. Released in 1997 and earning over a billion dollars worldwide, the movie tells the story of the real-life sinking of the Titanic in 1912. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Jack, a poor artist, and Kate Winslet as Rose, a wealthy passenger, who fall in love on the ship’s first and tragic voyage.
Titanic Is One of the Most Successful Movies of All Time
It’s been almost 30 years since Titanic was released, and very few films have achieved the same level of success. Director James Cameron masterfully combined a classic love story with the real-life tragedy of the Titanic and stunning special effects. The result was a massive box office hit – the first movie to ever earn over a billion dollars worldwide – and a cultural phenomenon that continues to captivate viewers today.
As a huge movie fan, I remember when Titanic absolutely dominated the awards season – it took home 11 Oscars! It’s still one of the biggest movies ever made, having earned over $2.25 billion worldwide. Only a few films – Avatar, Avengers: Endgame, and Avatar: The Way of Water – have made more. What’s really incredible is that Titanic isn’t part of a big franchise, and it’s still the highest-grossing drama of all time. Plus, it held the number one spot at the box office for 15 weeks straight – a record that hasn’t been broken yet!
The film, boasting an 88% critic score and 69% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, remains a beloved classic and a significant part of pop culture. It’s celebrated for its epic story of love amidst a historical tragedy, its memorable music, and the ongoing discussion among fans about whether Rose and Jack could have both survived on the famous door.
What’s New on Tubi?
Tubi has added a bunch of popular movies to its streaming service, including Titanic. As of November 1st, you can now watch films like The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Dinner for Schmucks, Face/Off, The Godfather, No Country for Old Men, and Rango, the Oscar-winning animated film from 2011.
