The concluding chapters of the intense anime series Attack on Titan have been compiled into a feature-length film that delivers a thrilling cinematic experience. Though Attack on Titan: The Last Attack didn’t quite reach the box office success of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, MAPPA created a powerful and epic story. While there are currently no plans for a sequel or spin-off anime, the film offers fans one last chance to revisit the world of the Scout Regiment and provides a compelling reason to return to theaters.
I’m so excited – the final part of the Attack on Titan movie saga, Attack on Titan: The Final Chapter – The Last Attack, is hitting Japanese theaters January 9th! What’s even cooler is that this release is getting a special “Dolby Cinema remaster,” which means the animation will look absolutely incredible during the big battle between Eren and his friends. If you’re not in Japan, don’t worry, the regular version starts showing on January 16th. Now, the big question is… will this amazing remaster come to North America? I’m really hoping it does – fingers crossed!
Along with the main news, Attack on Titan released a comparison showing the original film next to the remastered version. You can see how the new Dolby Cinema version differs from the older one below.

The Last Attack Attacks Once More
Director Yuichiro Hayashi shared his excitement about the return of Attack on Titan: The Last Attack with a re-release and remaster. He expressed gratitude to fans for their incredible support during the film’s initial run, making this re-release possible. This isn’t just another screening, though – the visuals and sound have been improved to create the best possible viewing experience. As the final installment of The Final Season, this updated version promises even greater immersion. Hayashi hopes fans will continue to enjoy the world of Attack on Titan for years to come and encourages everyone to experience the rumbling again in theaters!
I’ve noticed you can watch the final season of Attack on Titan and its compilation film right now on Crunchyroll. But it sounds like there’s even more coming! According to recent news, a 4K UHD Blu-Ray version of Attack on Titan: The Last Attack will be released in Japan on January 21st of next year.
