The latest news about Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle is disappointing for fans outside of Japan and China – it won’t be available to watch until at least next year. The film has been hugely popular in Japan since its summer release and is now expanding to China, potentially breaking box office records. While fans in those regions are excited, viewers elsewhere are still waiting for their chance to see it.
The movie Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle has done very well in cinemas, and it doesn’t look like it will be available on DVD, Blu-ray, or streaming services soon. A new trailer featuring the character Giyu Tomioka reinforces that it will remain exclusively in theaters for the foreseeable future. Sadly, many fans won’t be able to see it in theaters anymore, as it’s been replaced by newer films in most locations.
Demon Slayer Is Exclusive to Theaters for the Rest of 2025
I’m so excited that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle is still playing in theaters all over the world! It’s awesome that more and more fans are finally getting to see it on the big screen. For those of us who’ve already watched it, it means a bit of a wait for a digital release, but honestly? The movie is still doing incredibly well in theaters, so there’s no rush! It’s great to see so much support for the series.
It’s frustrating that the anime won’t be readily accessible for streaming. Fans are accustomed to new releases being available online quickly, but this situation is unusual. While anime films are now being released globally faster than before, fans are still adjusting to the traditional theatrical release schedule. Typically, it takes months for a film to become available for home viewing, and that process only speeds up if the film doesn’t do well in theaters. However, that isn’t the reason for the delay here.
What Does This Mean for Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2?
The most disappointing part of this news, especially with Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle continuing to do well in theaters, is that we probably won’t see the next film for quite a while. Like the first film, it will likely require a large marketing campaign and a significant amount of advance promotion – meaning we’re looking at at least a year of teasers and build-up.
With the first movie expected to be in theaters until 2026, news about the second film will likely be limited until then. We’ll probably start learning more about it as its release date approaches, which is now projected for 2027 or later, given the time needed for production and marketing.
