The celebration of Krakoa by the X-Men hints at a promising future for a high-level mutant, as seen in X-Men: Hellfire Vigil #1. This comic marked the conclusion of the Krakoa era while planting seeds for various X-Men storylines. Among numerous themes, romance and relationships were prominent in this one-shot issue. However, a particular X-Man’s tale caught attention due to a potential pregnancy predicament. This well-liked X-Men member might have significant consequences for the Marvel Universe moving forward, as suggested by her possible pregnancy.
Spoiler Alert: Spoilers for X-Men: Hellfire Vigil #1 follow.
In the comic book X-Men: Hellfire Vigil #1, the creative duo Murewa Ayodele and Luciano Vecchio teamed up once more, with their narrative focusing on Storm (Ororo Munroe) visiting a convenience store to purchase a pregnancy test. If you’ve been out of the loop with Storm, you’re missing out on one of X-Men: From the Ashes relaunch’s standout titles. In this storyline, Storm was selected as the Herald of Eternity, an influential cosmic entity within the Marvel Universe. Following an inspiring speech at the vigil, we learn that Storm’s pregnancy test result was negative. Although she appears disappointed, Eternity grants her a glimpse into the future where Storm will give birth to a daughter. However, the crucial question remains: who is the baby’s father?
Is Wolverine the Father of Storm’s Daughter?
In December 2024, Storm #3 could prove to be a pivotal event. Upon discovering her fatal radiation poisoning, Storm seeks out the Louisiana-based X-Men team. For seven days without using her powers, she trains and collaborates with the X-Men, particularly Wolverine. Storm and Wolverine share a deep history marked by romantic moments, and their connection reignites as they passionately kiss and spend a night together.
In the whirlwind of events like Storm acquiring cosmic powers, clashing with Doctor Doom, and the extensive X-Manhunt crossover, it’s understandable that fans might have overlooked it, but a potential full-circle moment for Storm and Wolverine’s romance could have been hinted at in issue #1 of X-Men: Hellfire Vigil.
In a prelude to a more significant confrontation with Oblivion, Eternity shares a peek into Storm’s future to ready her. This vision unveils Furaha, a young girl born on June 16th at exactly 6:16, whom we know as “joy” or “happiness” in Swahili. Interestingly, this birth date and time signify 616 Day, which Marvel recently highlighted with Knull’s return announcement this year. So, it’s intriguing to speculate that the truth about Furaha’s father might surface in 2026.
During this time, we’re given some hints. Furaha mentions her regret about not having Storm’s white hair, instead she inherited her father’s black hair and fangs. Additionally, Furaha possesses both Storm’s powers and those of an unnamed father, who is hinted to be a vampire or potentially Black Panther, but our guess leans towards Wolverine as the father. She demonstrates abilities similar to Storm’s lightning and shows a tooth with fangs in her mouth. This opens up several possibilities regarding her father’s identity.
This is a significant occasion for the X-Men team, as Storm and Wolverine are among its most beloved characters. Moreover, this event will expand Wolverine’s extensive family lineage, which already includes Laura Kinney (also known as Wolverine), Gabby (Scout), Akihiro (Daken/Hellverine), and others.
