JJK Modulo Officially Confirms Yuji Itadori Is Alive — & Earth’s New Strongest Sorcerer

As a huge fan of Gege Akutami’s work, I’ve been absolutely loving JJK Modulo! Ever since it launched back in September 2025, it’s consistently blown me away with how surprisingly deep and thoughtful it is, plus the art is just stunning. It’s a fantastic way to continue the story we all fell in love with in JJK, and honestly, the latest chapters suggest it’s only getting better!

Chapter 10 of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, titled “Majority Vote,” returns the story to Earth and concludes the flashback about Maru and Cross’s childhood. Importantly, the author, Akutami, has brought back Yuji Itadori—the main character from the original Jujutsu Kaisen series—a development that could significantly impact the story’s future.

JJK Modulo Reveals Yuji Itadori Is Earth’s Secret Weapon

In Chapter 10 of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, Japan’s leaders are discussing what to do about the Simurian refugees waiting just outside Earth. Because of a previous, uncontrolled outburst from Maru, they’re understandably cautious and worried the Simurians might be hostile. Some council members suggest demonstrating humanity’s strength as a warning, and specifically propose using Yuji Itadori as a powerful deterrent.

Itadori Yuji has been briefly mentioned twice in the JJK Modulo story, with Masaki Takeda speaking positively about him. However, these mentions didn’t offer much detail about what happened to the original JJK characters. Now, after Chapter 10 of Modulo, fans can confidently assume two things: first, Itadori is still alive, and second, he’s currently the most powerful sorcerer on Earth.

The opening of JJK Modulo immediately connects Yuji Itadori to Satoru Gojo, highlighting his importance. The fact that he’s called upon during an alien invasion confirms his position as Earth’s most powerful sorcerer by the end of Modulo, and should be exciting news for fans who have followed Itadori’s story from the start.

I noticed something interesting in Chapter 10 of JJK Modulo – it brought Yuji Itadori into the story, and it really makes you think about his past as Ryomen Sukuna’s vessel, and what’s going on with the world of jujutsu sorcery overall. With Yuji, one of the most popular characters in shonen manga, expected to be back in the action soon, Jujutsu Kaisen fans are in for a lot of excitement as the Modulo storyline starts to become clearer.

Yuji Itadori’s Return Will Change the Landscape of JJK Modulo

Generally, bringing back a main character from the past can hurt a sequel, especially if the story has already introduced a new cast. But in the case of Yuji Itadori, the hero of Jujutsu Kaisen, he has important loose ends to tie up, making his return in Modulo feel natural and necessary.

Itadori still needs to resolve his conflict with Mahito, a key character who briefly appeared in the Modulo storyline. Since Itadori never finished their fight and promised to defeat him, a rematch is highly probable. It’s unclear how this connects to the Simurians’ arrival, but currently, defeating Mahito seems to be Yuji Itadori’s main focus.

Yuji Itadori kept the details of his unique ability, used against Ryomen Sukuna during their first battle in Jujutsu Kaisen, a secret. While Modulo hasn’t shown any Domain Expansions yet, revealing Yuji’s would be a fantastic development as the sequel manga moves forward. It would give him the boost he needs to effectively fight powerful opponents like Mahito and Dabura.

A major mystery surrounding Yuji Itadori’s return is his age. Considering the time that’s passed between the end of the original Jujutsu Kaisen and the events of JJK Modulo, he should be around 80 years old. However, in the panels where he appears in Modulo, he looks much younger, perhaps only middle-aged. This could be due to experiments conducted by Kenjaku, or the panels might show him at an earlier point in time. Regardless, it’s clear Yuji is still alive and well, and he might even become humanity’s savior again if things continue as they are.
