Celebrity Traitors renewed for a second season as BBC reveals huge impact on Scotland

Get ready for more betrayal and adventure! The popular show, The Celebrity Traitors, is coming back in 2026, and this time it’s set in the stunning Scottish Highlands.

The BBC has announced a second season is in the works, bringing a new group of famous faces to compete in a high-stakes game of deception and trust.

Following in the tradition of 19 recent celebrity appearances on national television, these new personalities promise plenty of laughs and unforgettable reactions.

Kalpna Patel-Knight, BBC Head of Entertainment, announced the show’s renewal, praising Studio Lambert for creating “The Celebrity Traitors,” which has become a national favorite. She noted the show has drawn record audiences and kept viewers engaged with its surprising plot twists.

The castle will reopen in 2026, inviting famous faces to compete in a new season of the game. Expect plenty of charm, strategy, and suspense as players battle to be the last one standing – it’s set to be just as captivating as the first series.

With the return of Uncloaked and the recent announcement that The Traitors has boosted Scotland’s economy, there’s a lot to be happy about.

As a second season of The Traitors is announced, I’m also looking at the numbers, and they’re pretty impressive. A new report shows the show – across all its versions, from the UK to the US and the celebrity spin-offs – has already given the Scottish economy a boost of around £21.8 million since they started filming there in 2022. It’s not just good TV; it’s good for business up in Scotland!

Hayley Valentine, head of BBC Scotland, shared that ‘The Traitors’ has been a huge hit on television, and they’re thrilled to be filming several versions of the show in Scotland. They fully support and appreciate this.

This report shows how filming The Traitors in Scotland is bringing real economic benefits to the country. We’re working with our partners to build on this success and help Scotland’s creative industries grow in a sustainable way.

Good news for fans of The Traitors: a fourth season has been confirmed and will arrive in 2026! Although we’ll have to wait a bit, there’s more of the show to look forward to.

I was thrilled to hear the news from the BBC after watching the finale of The Celebrity Traitors! Alan Carr really pulled it off, managing to stay a Traitor until the very end and winning a fantastic £87,500 for Neuroblastoma UK – what a deserving charity! It was such a clever game on his part.

I was so thrilled to hear that he won Traitors! He said it was a total shock, which I totally get – he didn’t even think he’d make it past the first week! To actually win the whole thing is just incredible, and he called the experience a real adventure. I’m so happy for him!

He’s also shared some advice for anyone thinking of playing, saying that while he won, he doesn’t feel qualified to offer tips. He’s unsure if his success was due to his skill as the ‘Traitor’ or simply because the other players (‘Faithfuls’) weren’t very effective. He believes the game is best suited for people who genuinely enjoy it.

I’m completely captivated by Claudia, this incredible castle, and the whole game – honestly, without that love for all three, it just wouldn’t mean anything. I’m already planning to come back next year, and I’ve even been jokingly thinking about how I could maybe sneak in, disguised with my cloak and lantern, and… well, just create a little bit of mischief, for the fun of it, like we used to!
