5 God-Tier DC Heroes That Still Haven’t Appeared in a Movie

In the DC Universe, heroes can’t afford to be weak. The villains are incredibly powerful, and the dangers they pose are enormous. What gives the good guys a fighting chance is their intelligence. While Batman, a normal human who fights crime dressed as a bat, is perhaps the smartest of them all, he’s not alone. Heroes like The Atom and Mister Terrific also rely on their intellect to overcome challenges others can’t even imagine. Still, even the smartest heroes have their limits when facing overwhelmingly powerful villains like Darkseid or Doomsday.

Fortunately, Batman and his allies aren’t the only ones fighting for the world. Many other incredibly powerful heroes are always ready to help. However, some of these exceptionally strong characters haven’t yet made it to the big screen. Here are five DC heroes with god-like powers who haven’t appeared in a live-action movie.

5) Orion

The New Gods, split into two groups from the planets New Genesis and Apokolips, are locked in a never-ending conflict. To try and stop the fighting, their leaders, Highfather and Darkseid, make a surprising deal: they exchange sons. Darkseid’s son, Orion, finds a new life on New Genesis, becoming a powerful hero and even joining the Justice League at times. With James Gunn rebuilding the DC Universe, there’s hope Orion might be included in the new team.

4) Mister Miracle

Highfather is fortunate to have Orion as a son, but Darkseid ends up with Scott Free, who disagrees with Darkseid’s methods. Scott escapes Apokolips and becomes the hero Mister Miracle, assisting New Genesis in their fight against Darkseid. He’s incredibly skilled and proves to be a huge asset. Notably, Mister Miracle even becomes the living form of the Anti-Life Equation – a concept with exciting potential for a movie adaptation.

3) Etrigan

Etrigan isn’t your average god – in fact, he’s a demon from Hell magically bound to a man named Jason Blood. Despite being a demon, Etrigan consistently fights for good, using incredible abilities like projecting hellfire and wielding powerful magic. Similar to Orion, he’s served with different versions of the Justice League, giving him experience with many other heroes.

2) Deadman

In the DC Universe, trips to the circus rarely go well, often resulting in tragedy – like when aerialist Boston Brand was killed during his act. Luckily for Brand, death wasn’t the end; he was brought back to life as the hero Deadman, gaining abilities like flight, possession, and super strength. While it might take a Justice League Dark movie to feature Deadman, that shouldn’t be difficult for James Gunn, who enjoys exploring the more unusual aspects of superhero stories.

1) Pandora

As a huge fan of mythology and DC comics, I’ve always been fascinated by Pandora’s story. It’s essentially a retelling of the Greek myth – in the DC Universe, Hephaestus, on Zeus’s command, creates Pandora and gives her a box she’s warned not to open. Naturally, her curiosity wins, and she has someone else open it, unleashing all sorts of trouble. She faces the consequences, but ultimately redeems herself by aiding the Justice League Dark on their journey to Heaven, where she discovers she can transform into an angelic being, gaining incredible power. Honestly, her future in the new DCU feels a bit uncertain compared to some other characters, but I’d love to see them find a place for her, even if it’s just a cameo or two. She’s a compelling character, and it would be great to see her story continue.
