Good news for fans of Will Byers! The show’s creators have confirmed that a major plotline for Noah Schnapp’s character will definitely be explored in the fifth and final season of Stranger Things.
Viewers have long speculated about Will’s sexuality, and actor Noah Schnapp has since revealed he is gay. The show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, also suggested in season 4 that Will has romantic feelings for his friend Mike.
In a recent interview with GQ, Noah Schnapp, who publicly came out as gay last year, revealed that Will Byers’s sexuality will be a central focus of the final season of the popular Netflix series, Stranger Things.
He explained that the show was instrumental in his journey of self-discovery, particularly regarding his sexuality. More importantly, he added, it taught him to embrace his true self, accepting all aspects of who he is.

Noah Schnapp previously shared with Variety that hints about Will’s sexuality were present as early as season one. While it was initially unclear if Will was simply maturing at a different pace than his friends, the show has now made it definitively clear that he is gay and in love with Mike.
Will isn’t the only character exploring their LGBTQ+ identity on the show. In season 3, Robin Buckley (played by Maya Hawke) came out to her friend Steve Harrington (Joe Keery). Now, viewers are hoping Robin might help Will understand and accept who he is.
