Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen manga. The popular manga series Jujutsu Kaisen, created by Gege Akutami, finished its original run in September 2024 at the height of its success. A year later, the author launched a short sequel called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, which is expected to last about six months. This new story is set 68 years after Ryomen Sukuna’s defeat and focuses on a new cast of characters. The world of Jujutsu is facing another crisis, with fears of a war brewing between humans and the Simurians – a powerful alien race of 50,000 who arrived in Japan as refugees. In this desperate situation, they desperately need the help of Yuji Itadori.
Modern sorcerers aren’t as strong as they used to be, but Yuji, a key figure from an event 68 years prior, remains exceptionally powerful. Chapter 10 briefly shows him with part of his face hidden, but it’s obvious he hasn’t aged. This is likely due to the changes his body underwent after absorbing many cursed objects earlier in the story. The latest chapter then revisits the beginning, echoing the final words Yuji’s grandfather spoke to him.
Jujutsu Kaisen Fan Theory About Yuji’s Grandfather Cursing Him Might Be True

The story is set 68 years after the original, meaning most of the original characters have passed away – Yuta and Maki died of old age, and the fates of the others are currently unknown. Surprisingly, Yuji is still alive and hasn’t aged, likely due to cursed objects he consumed in high school. However, this has left him in a sort of timeless existence, forced to watch his loved ones die while he remains unchanged – a cruel twist of fate, as it’s the opposite of what his grandfather wanted for him.
Yuji was raised solely by his grandfather, Wasuke Itadori, who wished for him to be surrounded by people even after his death. Some fans believe Wasuke’s words unintentionally cursed Yuji, a theory that gained traction during the intense Final Arc where many characters died. Now, in the continuation of the story, Yuji is incredibly powerful and doesn’t seem close to dying, but he’s completely alone, secretly avoiding the world of Jujutsu sorcery – a situation that goes against everything he and his grandfather hoped for.
