Valerie Bertinelli is ready to find out if blondes have more fun.

The actress, known for her role in One Day at a Time, revealed a new look for an upcoming part. She’s traded her usual dark hair for long, wavy blonde locks—a significant change!

Valerie debuted a new blonde hairstyle on Instagram on November 10th, crediting stylist Chris Appleton. She quickly clarified, though, that the look was achieved with a wig.

The 65-year-old actress playfully revealed on Instagram that her hairstyle is actually a wig, jokingly admitting she didn’t know how to take it off.

Valerie tried taking the wig off herself and realized it was held on with many pins. She joked that it felt like her hair was glued to her scalp.

As someone who’s always juggling life on the go, I totally get the little victories! I was recently trying to deal with some tricky pins – you know, the kind that just won’t budge – and I was so thrilled when I finally managed to get one loose. It’s amazing how good it feels when something small just works! I was definitely celebrating that ‘unsnap’ moment – in a good way, of course!

After taking off her blonde wig, Valerie laughed at her real hair, saying it needed to be colored. She tapped her fingers on her head and added with a chuckle, “It feels all crunchy!”

Valerie, who has a 34-year-old son named Wolfgang “Wolfie” Van Halen with her late ex-husband Eddie Van Halen, joked that her braided hair made her look like Pippi Longstocking.

She’s recently changed her hair color to blonde, and she’s also revealed a new method she uses to stay healthy and focused.

Valerie shared on Instagram in April that her pool is 66 degrees. She described it as a comfortably cool temperature for a cold plunge – as experts recommend – and explained that, along with other things she’s trying, it’s been boosting her mood and reducing inflammation, all without the hassle of icing down her bathtub.

Later that month, she shared in another post that she’d gone through a lot of challenges and good times recently, adding, “I’m finally starting to see and feel things getting better.”

She shared her gratitude, saying, “I’m so thankful for my family and friends, and for everyone who supports me and is part of this community.”
