Last night’s Monday Night Raw felt more exciting and unpredictable than recent episodes, with WWE offering several genuine surprises. While some twists might have been expected, they generally moved storylines and rivalries in a meaningful way. However, the show wasn’t perfect, particularly in the final 20 minutes. Here’s a breakdown of the five biggest successes and failures from the November 10th edition of Raw, starting with the opening segment.
5. Hit – John Cena’s Grand Slam
The show began with a segment featuring Raw and Triple H, but quickly shifted focus to John Cena. Cena gave an emotional speech to the Boston crowd before being confronted by the villainous Dominik Mysterio. This led to a match many fans had anticipated for a long time, and WWE presented it flawlessly, creating another memorable moment for John Cena, considered by many to be the greatest of all time.
The match between Mysterio and Cena was designed to make Mysterio appear formidable, and included a touching tribute to Eddie Guerrero. Ultimately, Cena won, achieving a lifelong goal by becoming a Grand Slam Champion. It was a fantastic moment for Cena, but even more so for the fans, and it proved to be a truly inspired way to make the occasion memorable.
4. Miss – Men’s WarGames Build
By the end of the night, the teams for both the men’s and women’s WarGames matches were starting to take shape, though the men’s match had a somewhat slow start. The plans for these matches were significantly altered by Seth Rollins’ injury, forcing a major creative overhaul. Originally, the storyline had been fairly straightforward, but everything had to be rewritten.
Everything feels a bit disconnected and lacks a strong connection right now. Paul has blended in well with the team, though his past issues with Punk seemed a little contrived. They just need one more member to form a complete group of four. On paper, a team of Jey Uso, CM Punk, and Cody Rhodes is fantastic, but adding a fourth member – likely Roman Reigns – will be difficult to justify. Without the unifying animosity towards Seth Rollins that previously brought these wrestlers together, it’s hard to see how they’ll all logically work as a team.
3. Hit – Nikki Bella’s Betrayal
A positive change on tonight’s Raw involved Nikki Bella, who returned to WWE at the Royal Rumble. While she’s been on TV frequently since then, she hasn’t had much success in matches. Recently, Nikki became friends with Stephanie Vaquer, but tonight she showed that relationship wasn’t genuine. This development is a good start to improving Nikki’s return to WWE and setting her up for a stronger run.
After successfully defending her title against Raquel Rodriguez, Bella initially celebrated with Vaquer. However, she then surprisingly attacked Vaquer with the championship belt itself, knocking her down. By raising the title, Bella signaled a more aggressive side to her personality and set herself up for potential victories. At the same time, this rivalry establishes Vaquer’s toughest challenge so far as the new champion.
2. Miss – Crushing Title Change
In my opinion, the biggest disappointment of the night was Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair losing their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Asuka and Kairi Sane won the titles, but only with some outside help and unfair tactics.
Bliss and Flair were a highlight of WWE in 2025 for many reasons. They revitalized the Women’s Tag Team Championships, becoming the most popular tag team in the company and connecting with fans through both their matches and fun behind-the-scenes moments. The pairing also boosted the TV time and fan reception for both wrestlers, making their recent split confusing and a letdown for many.
Asuka and Kairi are poised to be fantastic champions with a promising story ahead, but it’s disappointing that Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss’s time as champions might be over so soon, especially since they were just hitting their stride.
1. Hit – A Major Return and WarGames Potential
Just before the show ended, WWE had two big announcements. First, Rhea Ripley unexpectedly returned after being absent for a while. Second, she officially confirmed the teams for an upcoming WarGames match. Earlier, a brawl broke out with Asuka and Kairi Sane receiving help from Nia Jax and Lash Legend, but they still couldn’t gain the upper hand. Iyo Sky then tried to help Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, but it wasn’t enough until Rhea Ripley’s return finalized the match lineup.
This women’s match feels much more natural than the men’s, as it’s a direct result of storylines that have been building for a while and are now coming together. Having Rhea Ripley return is fantastic, and pairing her with Sky, Bliss, and Flair creates an incredibly strong team. On the opposing side, Jax, Legend, Asuka, and Sane also form a powerful group, promising a great match at Survivor Series.
