ARC Raiders has introduced a new feature called Expedition Project. This allows you to earn lasting benefits for your account – like more storage, faster experience gains, extra skill points, and unique cosmetic items. It also offers the only way to completely reset and rebuild your skill tree. We’ll walk you through how it works, what gets reset, and how to quickly complete each stage.
What is the Expedition Project?
The Caravan is central to Expedition Projects. Think of it as the main spaceship you’re building for a long journey. Before you can launch, you need to fully equip it. Each step of the Expedition – collecting materials, improving systems, and stocking up on supplies – all contribute to getting the Caravan ready. Importantly, you don’t actually travel in the Caravan while you’re building it; it’s more like a visual guide showing your progress.

Once everything is finished, a Departure Window will appear. When the Caravan leaves, your Raider starts a fresh new operation. This means your stored items, equipment, designs, and character progress will be reset. But don’t worry—your account will still retain any lasting rewards you’ve earned during the Expedition.
Okay, so the Caravan system is kinda like prestiging in Call of Duty. Basically, I can trade in some of my current character’s progress to get permanent benefits that stack each time I do it. We’re talking things like more storage space, extra skill points, and even boosts to my experience gain. It’s a cool way to keep getting stronger over the long run!
Each time you start a new run, you’ll begin with a fresh Raider, but your overall account will be more developed. This means that with each cycle, your progress will feel more meaningful and rewarding.
Why This Matters
If you complete an expedition cycle, you get:
- Permanent, stacking buffs (bonus stash capacity and account XP bonus)
- Bonus skill points (account-wide and kept across cycles)
- A full skill-tree reset (true respec)
- Cosmetics tied to completion
These bonuses stack each cycle you finish.
How long is the Expedition Project?
Each expedition typically lasts around 8 weeks – that’s 60 days, plus a 7-day window for departure. It’s important to finish everything within that 7-day window to claim your rewards; otherwise, you’ll miss out.

How the Expedition Project Progresses
The process has six steps, and you’ll initially see “Load Stages 1/6”. You’ll actually complete steps one through five, as step six is just the departure. It’s best to begin early, because the first two steps can be completed easily if you carefully plan your travel routes and what items you create.
Stage 1
Needs: 150 Metal Parts, 200 Rubber Parts, 80 Arc Alloy, 15 Springs
Tips:
- Visit the vendor Celeste for daily caps (You can get 10 Springs per 24h.)
- Sweep the common areas on maps to clear this fast.

Stage 2
Needs: 35 Durable Cloth, 30 Wires, 30 Electrical Components, 5 Cooling Fans
Tips:
- Craft Durable Cloth (comes from Fabric) and Electrical Components (plastic parts and rubber parts) in Refinery T2–T3.
- Wires: salvage Power Cables; top up with Celeste when available.
- Cooling Fans: loot tech zones, specifically on the Spaceport map. Areas like Departure/Launch/Control Towers, Arrival Building, North/South Trench Towers are really good.

Stage 3
Needs: 5 Light Bulbs, 30 Batteries, 20 Sensors, 1 Exodus Module
Tips:
- Light Bulbs: check small trash cans and lockers (Dam Battlegrounds is a reliable area for this).
- Batteries/Sensors: frequent drops; Celeste sells both if you’re in need.
- Exodus Module: You should grab it when you see it. Or, you can buy it from Celeste; you only need one, and she only sells one within 24 hours.

Stage 4
We require 5 humidifiers, 5 advanced electrical components, 3 magnetic accelerators, and 3 Leaper Pulse Units. Here are some helpful suggestions.
- Humidifiers: hit Residential areas, specifically the Pale Apartments and Ruby Residence on the Dam Battlegrounds map. On the Buried City map, hit the Grandios Apartments and/or the Santa Maria Houses. You can also find them inside breachable heaters/side units.

- Craft: Advanced Electrical Components and Magnetic Accelerators in the Refinery.

- Leaper Pulse Units: farm Leapers fast with Showstopper or Blaze grenades if you’ve got them.
Stage 5
You’ll sort items into categories until you reach a certain limit.
Here’s a helpful hint: Use Ctrl-click to choose several items at once, but avoid using the “Select All” option. Be aware that once you submit your selections, they cannot be changed.

Best-in-slot turn-ins by category:
Combat
Requires 250k Coins worth of combat items.

- Extra mods (mags/silencers), grenades (heavy/trigger), and spare blue/pink weapons.
- Security-breach farming makes this trivial.
Survival
Requires 100k Coins worth of survival items.
- Bandages en masse (cheap fabric is a great filler).
- Defibs if needed.
- Avoid burning Vita sprays/shots and Herbal Bandages (they’re too rare/expensive).
Provisions
Requires 180k Coins worth of provisions.
- Blueprints, Resin, and Fruits/Mushrooms are high value.
- During Lush Blooms, raid fruit baskets. Use community maps to hop between basket spawns and snowball value.
Materials
Requires 300k Coins worth of materials.
- Bastion Cells are excellent (farm Bastions with light grenades).
- Arc Motion Cores are sneaky good and often ignored by players.
- Exodus Modules are valuable. You should balance turn-in vs. your own crafting needs.
- Prefer finished/recyclable items (like a Water Pump) over raw mats you still need.
As a last resort, you can buy turn-ins from Tian Wen, but it costs about three times the normal coin value. I only suggest doing this if you just need to finish off a category at the very end.
Stage 6
Stage 6 simply allows you to finish the current run. Importantly, the number of bonus skill points you receive (up to a maximum of 5) seems to depend on the total value of items you have stored at the end of the cycle.
Practical plan:
- In the final stretch, hold high-value items (blue/pink weapons, Bastion/Bombardier cells, upgraded components).
- Avoid tanking your stash value with huge, high-tiered last-minute turn-ins.
- Where possible, upgrade low-tier mats into higher-tier items before the finish.
Checklist
Here is a quick reference/checklist to refer back to for the Expedition Project:
- Start the project now; don’t drift into the 7-day window underprepared.
- Use Celeste’s daily resets to fly through Stage 1–3.
- Spaceport for fans, Residentials for humidifiers, Lush Blooms to baskets for Provisions.
- Stage 5: Combat (mods/grenades), Survival (bandages), Provisions (blueprints/resin/fruit), Materials (cells/finished items).
- Protect your stash value in the final days of the Expedition to maximize bonus skill points.
Finishing Up
Complete every expedition to gain lasting benefits for your account, like more storage space, extra skill points, and the ability to completely reset your skills. Pay attention to the 77-day completion window, make sure you’re providing the correct items at Stage 5, and finish each expedition with a valuable stash. If you do this consistently, your account will become noticeably more powerful with each cycle.
