Heidi Gardner, who used to be on Saturday Night Live, is now part of the cast of Scary Movie 6 after departing the show. She won’t be alone, though – another former SNL cast member will also appear in the film.
As reported by Entertainment Weekly, actress Vivica A. Fox has confirmed she’ll be returning for a new installment of the popular film series. Her spokesperson shared that she’s excited to collaborate with the filmmakers, who are the same Wayans Brothers who originally created Scary Movie.
Cheri Oteri, who was on Saturday Night Live from seasons 21 through 25, is also joining the horror comedy. This isn’t her first time with the Scary Movie series – she played TV reporter Gail Hailstorm in the first film, a funny take on Courteney Cox’s character Gale Weathers from Scream.
Chris Elliott is back for another installment, having previously played Hanson, the caretaker of a haunted house in the second film. He’s also known for his role as Ezekiel, a sheriff’s brother, in Scary Movie 4.
Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Anna Faris, Regina Hall, Lochlyn Monroe, Dave Sheridan, and Jon Abrahams—the original stars of the Scary Movie series—are returning for the new reboot. Joining them will be new cast members Olivia Rose Keegan, Savannah Lee Nassif, Cameron Scott Roberts, Sydney Park, Gregg Wayans, Ruby Snowber, and Benny Zielke.
Cecily Strong announced in August 2025 that she would be leaving Saturday Night Live shortly before its 51st season began in October. She had been a cast member for eight years, joining in season 41 and departing after season 50. She was joined in leaving the NBC show by fellow cast members Ego Nwodim, Michael Longfellow, Devon Walker, and Emil Wakim.
Scary Movie 6 is scheduled to be released on June 12, 2026.
