Amy Schumer Clarifies Why She Deleted All Her Pre-Weight Loss Photos

Amy Schumer is setting the record straight.

Okay, so there’s been a bit of chatter about me removing older photos from my social media, and I wanted to address it. I understand why some people were upset, but honestly, I just wanted a fresh start and a feed that reflects who I am now on my wellness journey. It wasn’t meant to erase my past, just to focus on the present and future. I hope that makes sense!

Amy addressed recent speculation on Instagram, clarifying that she hadn’t removed older photos because of her weight loss. She explained that the idea she did was a story created by the media, and she’s always been proud of her appearance.

The 44-year-old, who shares 6-year-old son Gene Fischer with her husband Chris Fischer, focuses on how her body feels rather than on weight loss when she thinks about changes it’s gone through.

She shared that she’s finally feeling pain-free after a long journey. Her endometriosis has improved, her back is recovering, and she’s no longer dealing with Cushing syndrome, which has restored her appearance. She expressed gratitude for her strength and health, particularly for the sake of her son.

Amy, who was diagnosed with Cushing’s syndrome – a condition caused by having too much cortisol – in 2024, explained that she hadn’t intentionally tried to lose weight.

She went on, saying that was a good point, but she’s really been concentrating on her health. She knows her weight will naturally go up and down.

As for what did inspire the changes to her social media page? A little bit of creative expression.

She explained that Instagram isn’t a true reflection of who you are, but rather a carefully chosen presentation of how you want to be seen. She also shared that she feels good – strong and beautiful – and has enjoyed sharing that with others.

The actress from Trainwreck shared a message of support, saying she hopes everyone finds strength and self-love, as long as they treat all people with kindness and respect, regardless of their weight, race, or religion. She ended with a wish for peace.

Amy first showed off her weight loss in October with a photo from a trip to Las Vegas, where she wore a short black dress.

Although she’s recently seen significant improvements in her health, Amy Schumer has been experimenting with different wellness approaches since 2022—and that included a short period of time taking Ozempic.

Amy shared on The Howard Stern Show in January that she became seriously ill while taking a type 2 diabetes medication, which some people use for weight loss. She said she was confined to bed, experiencing vomiting and extreme fatigue. However, she acknowledged that others haven’t had the same reaction and expressed her relief for them.

The Fresh Off the Boat alum used to weigh 300 pounds and lost 130, showcasing his journey on TikTok.

Tammy Slaton is known for her role on the TLC show 1,000-Lb. Sisters, but she didn’t want to be defined by it for the rest of her life.

In an April 2025 episode of her show, the 38-year-old shared that she’s lost about 500 pounds. She explained that she once weighed over 700 pounds, but now weighs 238 pounds.

She had weight-loss surgery in 2022, and her doctor believes it was the best decision for her health.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been so impressed with Tammy’s dedication after her surgery. Dr. Eric Smith shared with People magazine back in October 2024 that she’s really embraced making lasting, sustainable changes. It’s all about those small, everyday adjustments – that’s what ensures continued progress and, most importantly, long-term success. She’s absolutely committed to her health, and it’s wonderful to see!

It seems as if every time Jelly Roll hits a red carpet, he’s down a sizable slice of weight.

Singer Jason DeFord, who initially weighed 540 pounds, shared with Pat McAfee in April 2025 on his live show, Big Night Aht, that he was down to 357 pounds. He plans to lose another 100 pounds and celebrate by skydiving with his wife in Sweden!

The artist, who is 6’1″, realized he needed to completely change his approach to food to achieve his goals. He shared on the October 2024 episode of On Purpose With Jay Shetty that he’s always believed there’s a strong link between obesity and mental wellbeing. He understands it’s easy for people to say ‘just eat less and exercise,’ but wishes he could have thought about food that way himself.

Jelly Roll acknowledged that losing weight was still a major challenge, but he was happy to see that his new, healthier habits were starting to make a difference.

He explained that he’s fully committed to improving himself, focusing on healthy habits like staying hydrated, cold water immersion, and eating a nutritious diet. He feels he’s making good progress.

Al Roker wasn’t kidding around with the title of his cookbook Recipes to Live By.

After losing 100 pounds through dedication and effort, the veteran TODAY weatherman truly practices what he preaches. He makes sure to get at least 10,000 steps each day, eats a healthy diet, and exercises regularly.

I’ve always loved what he said in that People interview back in June 2025. He basically explained his philosophy as ‘something is better than nothing,’ and it really resonated with me. He wasn’t talking about becoming an elite athlete – though some people might aim for marathons or weightlifting – he was saying most of us just want to be fit enough to feel better in our everyday lives, and I totally agree!

Al Roker had gastric bypass surgery in 2002 as a starting point for getting in shape, but he emphasizes that there’s no easy, instant fix.

Surgery is “not the end,” he advised. “You’re still going to have to put in the work.”

Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, previously famous for his role in the “tush push” play, has recently been gaining attention for his impressive physique.

The former NFL player was always physically fit throughout his 13-year career, but he’s currently about 25 pounds lighter than his playing weight. He recently shared at a golf tournament in Philadelphia that he now weighs around 270 pounds, down from his 295-pound playing weight.

Kelce explained that his goal weight of 250 to 260 pounds is part of his plan for life after football. He told GQ in June 2024 that he wants to maintain a strong physique without needing to have highly defined abs, and still feel good about how he looks.

For the father of four daughters, whose wife is Kylie Kelce, being able to keep up with his children was his biggest priority.

At 277 pounds, he said he’s already feeling relief in his back and knees, and hopes losing another 20 pounds will make it even easier to play with his kids.

Moving her family from the U.S. to Ireland wasn’t just about a change of location for Rosie O’Donnell; it made a real difference in her life.

In a TikTok video from March 2025, she revealed she’d lost weight, explaining it was a side effect of taking Mounjaro for her diabetes.

The TV personality, previously a cohost on View, recently went shopping in Dublin for clothes that fit her better. She explained, “I’ve always struggled with my weight, and it’s surprising to me that I’m now a large instead of an extra-large or double extra-large.”

In 2022, Jazz Jennings began focusing on her health and fitness. Two years later, she shared on Instagram that she was proud of the progress she’d made, saying she finally felt good about taking care of herself after years of not prioritizing her well-being. She admitted she’d let her eating habits slip, but now feels confident and healthy.

In August 2024, Jazz Jennings, star of I Am Jazz, revealed she’d lost nearly 100 pounds and expressed how proud she was of her achievement.

It turns out Christopher Schwarzenegger is a chip off the ol’ muscly block.

The youngest child of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver quietly lost 30 pounds, but he’s now returning to a more active lifestyle.

He explained at the first Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit in May 2025 that achieving his health goals wasn’t quick, and involved a lot of experimentation. He said that simply cutting out bread had a significant impact, but even now, when he compares old and new photos, he doesn’t feel like he’s fully reached his ideal state.

Meanwhile, Christopher did not let a certain seven-time Mr. Olympia in on his plan.

Dad Arnold told The Times in June 2025 that he would never directly tell his son he was overweight. Instead, they consistently offered him healthy food options and encouraged gym visits. Eventually, his son independently decided he wanted to get in shape, and he succeeded. Arnold expressed his pride in his son’s self-discipline and motivation, explaining he always believed the change would have to come from within—and it did.

Chrissy Metz jokes that she only runs when she has to, but she loves strength training. Working out is a key part of how she lost 100 pounds.

In an April 2025 interview with DailyMail.com, the former This Is Us star explained that staying healthy and strong is her main motivation for taking care of herself as she gets older.

To Metz, aging gracefully means “staying strong and flexible,” so she tries to be active every day.

John Goodman was known for his large size when he played Dan Conner on the show Roseanne in the 1990s; he even joked with David Letterman in 2010 that he once weighed close to 400 pounds. However, by the time The Conners began in 2018, the character—and Goodman himself—had adopted a healthier lifestyle.

In 2007, Goodman stopped drinking, which was the beginning of his journey to a healthier lifestyle. He enjoyed staying active through boxing and walking his dogs.

In 2010, he told People magazine that he was working hard to get in shape, exercising six days a week and eliminating sugar from his diet, which helped him lose around 100 pounds. He described it as challenging, but manageable.

Overall, the 6-foot-2 actor has lost about 200 pounds since he was at his peak weight.

In a 2016 interview with ABC News, Goodman explained he simply became exhausted with his own image. He described feeling a strong aversion to even looking at himself, saying, ‘You’re shaving and you avoid your reflection. It can become a really difficult situation.’

Oprah Winfrey has been sharing the highs and lows of her weight loss journey for decades.

Whether it was famously squeezing into skinny jeans and dramatically revealing her weight loss on the Oprah Winfrey Show in 1988, or later investing in WeightWatchers in 2015, Oprah has consistently used her influence to raise awareness about weight and wellness.

In March 2024, during an interview on An Oprah Special: Shame, Blame and the Weight Loss Revolution, she shared that she was using medication, in addition to eating smaller meals and exercising, to manage her weight.

“It’s not just one thing,” she said of her secret to staying fit, “it’s multiple things.”

Winfrey shared that her intention with the special was to reduce the shame and judgment often associated with weight, both for others and ourselves. She wanted to move away from criticizing people for their weight or choices around weight loss, and instead foster self-acceptance.

Lizzo simply wanted to feel better from head to toe.

In a May 2023 TikTok video, the singer explained that she started exercising not to change her body, but to improve her mental well-being. She wanted to feel better about herself and overcome feelings of shame and self-disgust, and found that exercise helped her change her mindset.

In a TikTok video from January 2025, she shared that she was deliberately trying to lose weight, explaining that her aim was simply to improve her overall well-being.

Lizzo explained that even after losing weight, she won’t be considered traditionally ‘thin,’ and according to the BMI scale, she’ll still be classified as morbidly obese. She anticipates some people online will continue to comment on her body, but ultimately, she says she will be happy with herself.

Just a moment later, the video cut to Lizzo happily announcing that she’d lost 16 percent body fat and lowered her BMI by 10.5 points.

She finished with a motivational message: “You really can achieve anything you put your mind to.” Then, she said it was time to start thinking about what she wanted to accomplish next.
