The Blood of Dawnwalker Showcases Day and Night Quest Differences and Botched Vampires

With 2026 just around the corner, fans are eagerly anticipating The Blood of Dawnwalker, a dark fantasy RPG from Rebel Wolves that features vampires. While we don’t have a firm release date yet, the developers recently shared a new gameplay video showcasing how players will infiltrate a library within the game.

The last gameplay video only touched on the search for a legendary sword, but this new one dives deeper into it. The sword is hidden in a crypt beneath the church. Players can enter the crypt as a human during the daytime, but first they’ll need to help the deacon by finding an item in a local almshouse.

This discovery leads Coen to a secluded wing filled with plague victims, where he encounters a Murohn – a vampire whose transformation went wrong. After defeating the Murohn, Coen goes back to the church and is allowed into the library to search for a book revealing the crypt’s location.

He could also complete the mission at night while transformed into a vampire, using Shadow Step to quickly move across rooftops and reach the library balcony. This method is more dangerous – guards will immediately attack – but it demonstrates the improved combat system. The ability selection is now faster; instead of pausing the game, it simply slows time while you choose your options.

Rebel Wolves now lets you choose from two camera perspectives, including one that’s pulled back further. You can customize the camera for different situations – use a wider angle when exploring the open world and switch to a closer view during combat for a more immersive experience.

The game culminates in a fight against Mihai, a legendary figure said to have been entombed alive within the cathedral’s crypt. The reason behind this mysterious event will be revealed when The Blood of Dawnwalker launches on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

The game features an interesting twist: time moves forward based on your choices, and you have just 30 days to rescue Coen’s family from the villain, Brencis. The more trouble you cause for Brencis’s army, the more famous Coen becomes. You can find more information here.
