Red Dead Redemption coming to PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, iOS, and Android on December 2

Rockstar Games is releasing Red Dead Redemption on December 2nd for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and mobile devices through Netflix. Players who already own the game on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, or as a digital download on Xbox One will get a free upgrade. On PlayStation 5, the game will also be available to play for PlayStation Plus subscribers at no extra cost.

Originally released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on May 18, 2010, Red Dead Redemption became available on PlayStation 4 and Switch on August 17, 2023. It then launched on PC through Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Rockstar Store on October 29, 2024.

Plus, Netflix subscribers can download and play these mobile versions starting December 2nd as part of their membership.

Updates and Enhancements for Current Consoles

Players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will enjoy the game with smooth 60 frames per second, improved graphics, HDR, and resolutions up to 4K. The new Switch 2 also delivers a great experience, featuring DLSS, HDR, mouse controls, and the same smooth 60 frames per second gameplay at a high resolution.

Free Upgrades on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2

If you already own the game on PlayStation 4, Switch, or as a digital version on Xbox One, you can upgrade to the new version digitally at no cost. Plus, if you’re on PlayStation 4 or Switch, you can continue your game from where you stopped using your existing save data.

On December 2nd, updated versions of the game will launch, thanks to work with Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games. They’ll be included with both the GTA+ Games Library and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog.
