The creator of the acclaimed series Mood, Nicôle Lecky, is back with a new BBC drama called Wild Cherry. This time, the story unfolds in the wealthy world of Richford Lake, filled with designer fashion, fancy lunches, and the dramas of private school life.
Everything changes when a scandal hits their close community, putting teenage best friends Grace and Allegra – and their mothers – at the heart of the drama and forcing them to deal with shocking revelations.
This drama explores the complicated relationships between mothers and daughters as they deal with issues of wealth, influence, and the pressures of social media. The story highlights how patterns repeat across generations, and reveals that even seemingly ideal communities can hide secrets and betrayals.
Featuring strong performances from Carmen Ejogo (The Penguin) and Eve Best (House of the Dragon), alongside a mix of established and up-and-coming actors, Wild Cherry tells the story of two mothers dedicated to their daughters’ well-being.

Carmen Ejogo as Lorna Gibbons

Lorna is a successful businesswoman who lives with her family in Richford Lake. Despite her current wealth, she remembers where she came from and isn’t fooled by superficial appearances.
You might recognize Carmen Ejogo from shows like The Penguin, I’m A Virgo, The Girlfriend Experience, and True Detective. She’s also appeared in Your Honor, The Crowded Room, Self Made, and films including Alien: Covenant, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, and The Purge: Anarchy.
Imogen Faires as Grace Gibbons

Grace is Lorna’s daughter from a previous relationship, born before Lorna met Steven. She’s a dedicated and successful student, so her family is deeply upset when a school scandal involving her comes to light.
You might recognize Imogen Faires from her appearances in TV shows like Dickensian, Marcella, Goldie’s Oldies, The Dumping Ground, and Casualty.
Eve Best as Juliet Lonsdale

Juliet is Allegra’s mother and often presents herself as the perfect parent – a ‘supermum,’ as she’s sometimes called. She’s even written a book about her parenting style and strong relationship with her daughter. However, the reality is quite different.
You might recognize Eve Best from her work in shows like House of the Dragon, Nurse Jackie, The Honourable Woman, and Maryland. She’s also appeared in The Crown, Fate: The Winx Saga, and Stan Lee’s Lucky Man.
Amelia May as Allegra Lonsdale

Allegra comes from the well-respected Lonsdale family and appears to have a perfect life, but she secretly feels bitter towards her mother. She’s hiding things and plays a key role in a major scandal at school.
Where have I seen Amelia May? Wild Cherry is May’s TV debut.
Nathaniel Martello-White as Steven Gibbons

Let me tell you about Steven. He’s Grace’s stepfather and married to Lorna. He’s a really successful businessman, and he and Lorna work together. Honestly, when Grace does something that causes problems, it really throws him for a loop and just makes things even more stressful at home for everyone.
You might recognize Nathaniel Martello-White from his acting roles in shows like The Winter King, Deceit, Small Axe, I Hate Suzie, and One Dollar. He’s also a director, known for films such as The Strays and Just Act Normal.
Nicôle Lecky as Gigi

Gigi is a newcomer to Richford Lake who doesn’t immediately make a good impression on the local moms. She focuses on wellness and is working with the school to provide life coaching for teenage girls.
You might recognize Nicôle Lecky from her work on several TV shows! She created and starred in ‘Mood,’ and also wrote and executive produced ‘Wild Cherry.’ She’s also appeared in ‘Sweetpea,’ ‘Bloods,’ and ‘Death in Paradise.’
James Murray as Raef Lonsdale

Raef is Juliet’s husband and Allegra’s father, and he remains a somewhat enigmatic figure at the head of the Lonsdale family. He’s often traveling for work, and at first doesn’t appear to fully support his wife’s new book or its growing popularity.
You might recognize James Murray from his work in popular shows like The Crown, Primeval, Defiance, and Chaos. He’s also appeared in Geek Girl and Masters of the Air.
You can watch all episodes of Wild Cherry on BBC iPlayer starting Saturday, November 15th at 6am. The first two episodes will also air on BBC One that same night at 9pm.
