Tonight’s Strictly Come Dancing, which aired on Saturday, November 15th, became particularly moving when professional dancer Carlos Gu, who is partnered with Karen Carney, started to cry.
I was on the edge of my seat after they finished their American Smooth to SAYGRACE’s ‘You Don’t Own Me’! The judges seemed really impressed, and it felt like a huge moment for them.
Craig Revel Horwood shared his enjoyment of watching Karen dance and praised their partnership, while Motsi Mabuse described the performance as stunning and highlighted how Karen uniquely interpreted the dance.
Shirley Ballas complimented Karen on her improved posture, which was a result of her dedication, and this caused Carlos to become visibly emotional.

While chatting with Claudia Winkleman and awaiting the judges’ scores, Carlos shared that his partner had a tough week but was incredibly determined. Despite knowing ballroom isn’t her forte and having back issues, she told Carlos she was committed to improving, even if just a little, and really wanted to push herself in training.
“And just hearing them saying that… you have no idea how hard she’s been working.”
Carlos started crying, and Claudia and Karen both comforted him, letting him know it was alright.
Karen and Carlos received a score of 31 for their dance. Craig Revel Horwood gave them a 7, while the other judges each awarded an 8. This performance temporarily placed them in third position.
Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin’s Paso Doble, set to Aerosmith’s “Dream On,” earned them 38 points, and Alex Kingston and Johannes Radebe received a score of 35 for their Waltz to Barry Manilow’s “Weekend in New England.” Both performances were highly rated this week.
