Meet the Legends of Coronation Street: Live Events You Can’t Miss!

Coronation Street announced that they will feature three well-known personalities in their upcoming event, “An Evening with Coronation Street.

Under the guidance of scriptwriter and permanent This Morning soap expert Sharon Marshall, the gathering aims to honor the lasting impact of the United Kingdom’s longest-running serial drama.

Renowned actors Barbara Knox, William Roache, and Amanda Barrie are set to feature in a special program.

Knox, who has portrayed Rita Tanner for more than half a century, is set to attend the London gathering, along with the upcoming matinee performance happening in Salford.

Rita has been instrumental throughout Corrie’s lengthy timeline, starting with her observation of the startling demise of abusive spouse Alan Bradley (Mark Eden), up to getting hurt by a streetcar in the special 50th-anniversary live broadcast.

Lately, Rita has become known for injecting some humor amidst the turmoil, maintaining a strong connection with her former foster child, Jenny Connor, played by Sally Ann Matthews.

Regarding her role in the grand production, Knox expressed: “For me, the enchantment of Coronation Street lies in the bond it shares with its viewers.

After spending numerous memorable years on the cobblestones, it carries a unique sentiment and a hint of apprehension as I venture forth to reminisce about those moments in person.

As a devoted movie connoisseur, I find myself compelled to break my usual silence to express my gratitude and pay tribute to a television gem that’s been a constant companion in our lives – Coronation Street. Over the years, it has woven itself into the fabric of our collective memories, leaving an indelible impact on us all. This review is more than just a critique; it’s a heartfelt thank you note to the team behind this timeless masterpiece.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but share some exciting news! The one and only Ken Barlow, portrayed by our long-standing Corrie cast member Roache, is set to grace not just one, but two stages – in Salford and Sunderland, no less! This is truly a treat for all of us loyal fans who have followed his journey since the very first episode.

In the latest plot development, it was Cassie Plummer (played by Claire Sweeney) who poisoned Ken, yet despite her deceitful actions, Ken chose not to pursue legal action against her.

In 1960, when I first set foot on the street, I could hardly predict the incredible voyage it would turn out to be – a journey not just for me, but also for countless spectators worldwide.

It’s truly special for me to have the opportunity to personally interact with Coronation Street’s audience, swap tales, and contemplate the incredible heritage we’ve built together. This feels like a unique and cherished privilege.

I’m really excited to join in the festivities for this fantastic series, and acknowledge everyone who has contributed to its success, whether they are part of the cast or crew, or tuning in from their homes.

Finally, Amanda Barrie will be on hand to share stories from the cobbles in Sheffield and Glasgow.

From 1981 up until Alma Halliwell’s heartrending demise due to cancer in 2001, Barrie portrayed the role. He often reflects on the audience members who continue to mourn for Alma.

Barrie expressed that going back to Coronation Street feels like revisiting a beloved phase in his life. He played Alma, a character he held close to his heart, and many fans reminisce about her warmly even today.

What’s truly special about this series is its people, both in front of and behind the camera. I can’t wait to reminisce about our shared experiences with the audience who has made it all so meaningful.

It’s guaranteed to bring joy to devoted viewers when they learn that these famous figures are set to appear alongside the current ensemble in “An Audience with Coronitation Street.” Tickets have been snapped up at an unprecedented pace due to this exciting news.

In addition to the previously announced dates, a matinee show has been scheduled at The Lowry on September 20th, and another performance has been added for September 21st at Sunderland Empire.

Although Sue Cleaver, who played Eileen Grimshaw, has passed away, Sam Aston, who portrays Chesney Winter-Brown, will step into her role in London instead.

The price for attending An Audience with Coronation Street begins at £29.50. You can reserve your spot and view the complete schedule and artist information on our website.
