Will Jan Ravnik Return to Dancing With the Stars? He Says…

Jan Ravnik’s future in the ballroom is still up in the air.

The professional dancer recently joined season 34 of Dancing With the Stars, but isn’t certain if he’ll participate in the next season of the ABC show.

He told People magazine in an interview on November 14th that it’s too early to say for sure. He explained that 2026 is still a ways off and a lot can happen before then, so things remain uncertain.

The 30-year-old, who partnered with Jen Affleck on Secret Lives of Mormon Wives until they were eliminated in week seven, says he’s still practicing a lot for the upcoming semi-finals. He’s also been enjoying the experience more recently.

He explained that learning everything was initially stressful, but now that he’s gotten into a rhythm, things feel much easier.

As the end drew near, Jan realized he was already starting to feel sentimental about everything that had happened.

“In two weeks I’m gonna be done probably,” he said. “I’m gonna be like, ‘I missed that.’”

Jan, who used to dance backup for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, probably isn’t too upset about leaving the behind-the-scenes issues on Dancing with the Stars. He recently had to defend himself after former pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy questioned his qualifications as a ballroom dancer on the show, although Chmerkovskiy later apologized for his comments.

In a video posted on Instagram on October 30th, Maks apologized to Jan for upsetting them with his words. He explained he had more to say and asked if they’d be willing to meet up for coffee, or at any time that works for them, to talk things through and resolve the issue.

Jan hasn’t said anything publicly about Maks’ offer, but he has mentioned he dislikes negativity.

Jan told TopMob News on October 28th that they dislike hate and those who spread it for attention.

A disagreement arose at the dance competition when a judge said she was being harassed by supporters of a former contestant from the popular dating show, The Bachelorette.

Carrie Ann Inaba revealed she still experiences bullying, particularly around this time of year. She explained on The Talk that people often target her because of her critical feedback, and she was surprised it continues even as an adult, following the November 2, 2020 episode of the ABC reality show she appears on.

Carrie Ann Inaba criticized Kaitlyn and her partner, Artem Chigvintsev, after their jive performance, pointing out that they illegally performed a lift.

She seemed unsure what to call the move. “Is that a back-tap you’re doing?” she asked Kaitlyn. “I’m going to have to score that as a lift.” As a result, she lowered their score.

Following her performance, Kaitlyn told Entertainment Tonight she was surprised by Carrie Ann’s criticism. She wondered if the judge’s comments were meant to be constructive, or if they were influenced by past experiences with other contestants from The Bachelor franchise, like Hannah Brown. Kaitlyn explained she needed to understand the motivation behind the feedback so she and her partner could use it to improve in their next rehearsal.

Artem felt Carrie Ann’s criticisms were directed at him personally, and he doubted he could ever satisfy her.

It was obvious the actress from The O.C. wasn’t happy during her brief appearance on season 22, and viewers quickly picked up on the awkwardness between her and her dance partner.

I didn’t realize how difficult it would be,” she explained to The Ringer. “One of the dancers actually scolded me. I was promised I’d oversee the costumes, and even be involved in the design, which is why I took the job. But that didn’t end up happening at all.”

Cheryl shared that the former star of Beverly Hills, 90210, who competed on her show in season four, was the celebrity she disliked working with the most.

She admitted on the “Allegedly” podcast that Ian Ziering would be her least favorite dance partner. She explained that she gets annoyed because people pronounce his name ‘Eye-an’ instead of ‘Ee-an,’ and it really bothers her.

She explained that she had desperately pleaded with company leaders, even to the point of tears, asking if they would consider letting her team go. But they refused every time, insisting it wasn’t possible. She said they kept hearing that they would be kept on until the very end.

During season 23 of the show, a contestant revealed that a judge made her feel self-conscious about her body. She explained in a podcast interview that the judge seemed uncomfortable with her figure, specifically mentioning her hips, buttocks, and breasts.

Julianne and her co-host discussed the controversy during a recent show, after Julianne apologized and explained her previous remarks to TopMob News. She said her comment about feeling “uncomfortable” wasn’t about the dancer’s body, but rather her feeling that the performance lacked the energy it needed. She emphasized that she fully supports confident and sexy dancing and strongly opposes any form of body shaming, stating it goes against her personal beliefs.

Amber apologized, explaining that when she heard someone say they felt a little uncomfortable, she was embarrassed and assumed they weren’t referring to her dancing. She said she was sorry if she had misinterpreted the situation.

Maks and his partner quickly became friends during season 12 and again on the All-Star season, but Maks later said that his involvement with Scientology caused a rift in their relationship.

He explained on Watch What Happens Live in 2014 that they had a falling out. They used to have a good relationship, but she stopped speaking to him because he became friends with people she disapproved of. He said he still thinks highly of her, clarifying that his issue isn’t about religion—he himself is Jewish—or even beliefs, as he doesn’t personally believe in science fiction, but simply about who he chooses to associate with. He seemed to accept the situation, stating, ‘It is what it is.’

In response, Kirstie wrote that her former partner has “ass raped” her with the comments.

The well-known athlete and her dance partner had a difficult relationship during season 13 of the show. In her autobiography, she claimed he physically assaulted her during practice. She also revealed that the network offered to switch her to a different partner, but she refused, not wanting to jeopardize his career.

Maks refuted Hope’s accusations and responded in a 2015 podcast, calling her a “terrible person.” He explained that while difficult childhoods or past experiences can affect someone, there’s no justification for simply being unkind. He stated that a person’s inherent character matters, regardless of their background.

The reality star and her dance partner struggled during season 10, and Tony later revealed they both needed therapy afterward. He even admitted to shouting “I quit!” during one practice session.

The mother of eight responded to Tony’s comments by saying she was disappointed he only remembered the negative parts of their time together, especially considering all the effort they both put into the competition over many hours, days, and weeks.

I was really shocked and disappointed by what the judge said to that contestant. Telling her she’d never win a Nobel Prize in physics, and then adding a comment about her looks? It felt incredibly unnecessary and unfair. It wasn’t constructive criticism at all, and honestly, it just came across as rude and demeaning. I felt so bad for her; it was a really uncomfortable moment to watch.

Charlotte was upset by Bruno’s remarks, telling TopMob News that they were completely unnecessary. She pointed out that it felt especially insensitive given their recent focus on kindness and anti-bullying efforts, and that the comments weren’t about intelligence, just needlessly hurtful.

After winning season seven of the show, Brooke co-hosted with Tom Bergeron for several years. She was surprised and disappointed to learn she wouldn’t be returning for season eighteen, as Erin Andrews was brought in as her replacement.

After seven seasons of co-hosting Dancing with the Stars, I understand the show is moving in a new direction, and I respect that,” she told TopMob News. “I’m excited to explore opportunities I couldn’t before due to my contract. I’ve witnessed many surprising exits on the show, but this one is the most shocking yet.

During season 18, a star from Dance Moms joined the judging panel, and Maks didn’t seem impressed. He told co-host Erin Andrews that he disagreed with her comments about his dance with Meryl Davis, stating, “I really don’t care for anything she has to say.”

Abby strongly disagreed with Maks’ remark, calling it “disrespectful.” She told TopMob News that while she wasn’t personally offended, she felt it showed a lack of respect towards ABC, Dancing With the Stars, and one of the judges.
