7 Supervillains That Could Kill Goku, Ranked by How Easily They Would Win

Son Goku from Dragon Ball is easily one of the most powerful characters in anime. He’s constantly striving to become the strongest, and has overcome many incredibly powerful foes like Vegeta, Frieza, Majin Buu, Broly, and Jiren while protecting the universe. Goku fights using ‘Ki,’ a form of life energy that allows him to perform devastating attacks capable of destroying planets. As a Saiyan, he can also transform into various ‘Super Saiyan’ forms, each one boosting his power even further. However, even with all of his strength, speed, skills, and experience, Goku would still struggle against some of the most dangerous and versatile supervillains from Marvel and DC Comics.

As a huge Dragon Ball fan, it’s amazing to talk about how strong Goku is – seriously, the guy can battle gods and create attacks that ripple across universes! But here’s the thing I’ve always loved about him: he’s never truly unbeatable. He always has a limit to push past, and that’s what makes his journey so compelling. Now, when you compare the Dragon Ball universe to the sheer scale of infinite multiverses in Marvel and DC, it’s… smaller. That means Goku, as powerful as he is, has a finite amount of strength, speed, and energy. Plus, he hasn’t really faced opponents who mess with reality, read minds, or manipulate souls. Honestly, that’s where I think he’d struggle against some of the really terrifying villains from those other universes – those powers would be a huge problem for him, and I think they’d ultimately lead to his defeat.

7) Molecule Man

Goku, while a powerful warrior who’s battled many foes throughout the universe, isn’t used to fighting opponents who can alter reality itself, and that’s a major weakness. Molecule Man, whose powers allow him to control all matter at a molecular level, is one of Marvel’s strongest reality warpers. He can do things like bring people back to life, create unbreakable shields, change matter into anything he wants, and even create or destroy entire universes. What’s even more dangerous is that Molecule Man can absorb the power of incredibly powerful beings, meaning he could easily drain Goku’s energy, leaving him helpless. He could even simply erase Goku from existence with just a thought.

6) Trigon

Throughout his many battles, Goku has faced numerous powerful foes, but none compare to Trigon, a truly terrifying demon. Trigon isn’t just strong – he’s conquered countless universes and poses a threat to the entire DC Multiverse, even beings as powerful as the Spectre and Mr. Mxyzptlk. This level of power is far beyond anything Goku has ever encountered. While Goku has fought opponents who use magic, they are insignificant compared to the sheer destructive force of Trigon’s dark magic. Trigon could completely alter Goku’s body, control his mind, and even destroy his soul. Because Goku is vulnerable to attacks that target the soul, he wouldn’t be able to defend against Trigon’s ability to feed on his spirit.

5) Galactus

Goku’s famous fight with Lord Beerus, a God of Destruction, highlights a significant power gap. Even now, Goku isn’t as strong as Beerus, and that means he wouldn’t stand a chance against Galactus. Like Beerus, Galactus destroys worlds, but he’s far more powerful. While Goku and Beerus have limits to their power, Galactus’s power is essentially endless – his fights have even put the entire Marvel Multiverse at risk. Galactus’s Power Cosmic provides him with unlimited energy, overwhelming Goku’s Ki. And if that wasn’t enough, Galactus has the Ultimate Nullifier, a device that could instantly erase Goku from existence.

4) Thanos

While Goku is stronger than the regular Thanos, the moment Thanos puts on the Infinity Gauntlet, the fight is over. The Gauntlet gives Thanos far more ways to attack, letting him turn Goku into glass, age him into dust, attack his mind, or even steal his soul. It also gives Thanos incredible awareness, allowing him to anticipate and defend against Goku’s attacks. Thanos has already defeated incredibly powerful beings while wearing the Gauntlet, so it’s unlikely Goku could win before Thanos eliminates him. Ultimately, Thanos could simply snap his fingers and erase Goku from existence.

3) Superboy-Prime

When comparing all the versions of Superman across different universes, Superboy-Prime is undeniably the most powerful. He’s strong enough to defeat Goku without any difficulty. During the Crisis on Infinite Earths, most Supermen had their powers reduced, but Superboy-Prime remained at full strength. He retains limitless power, speed, and endurance, making him far beyond Goku’s capabilities. Superboy-Prime can literally rip apart reality and reshape entire universes with a single blow. While Goku is a formidable fighter, he simply couldn’t withstand a direct hit from someone as overwhelmingly powerful as Superboy-Prime.

2) Darkseid

Darkseid, the powerful and evil ruler of Apokolips, is one of DC Comics’ most dangerous villains. He’s strong enough to defeat even incredibly powerful beings like Zeus and Superman. While Goku’s Ultra Instinct form might allow him to initially fight Darkseid on equal footing, it doesn’t last long and quickly drains his energy. Darkseid, however, has fought equally powerful opponents for days without tiring. Furthermore, Darkseid’s Omega Beams can harm anyone, no matter how strong they are. A single blast could instantly destroy Goku or trap him in the Omega Sanction, a never-ending cycle of torture. This is all before considering Darkseid’s true power, which is capable of destroying the entire multiverse with ease.

1) Anti-Monitor

I’ve always considered the Anti-Monitor to be the most dangerous villain in DC Comics. Whenever he shows up, the entire multiverse is at risk of being wiped out. He’s casually destroyed countless universes by unleashing waves of antimatter – it just completely erases everything in its path. Beyond that, he can bend reality itself and even drain the energy from whole universes. He’s even taken down incredibly powerful beings like Darkseid and the Spectre. It actually took almost every hero across all of DC’s universes, including multiple Supermen, just to defeat him. Honestly, I don’t think Goku would stand a chance. Even in his strongest forms, he’d be hard-pressed to even make a dent. The Anti-Monitor could probably obliterate Goku with those antimatter waves without even trying.
