Chainsaw Man Movie: Season 2 Rumors Revealed?!

The highly anticipated film “Chain Saw Man: The Reze Arc” is scheduled to hit North American screens on October 29th this autumn. In anticipation of the big-screen debut of Denji, Studio MAPPA made an appearance at this year’s Anime Expo to whip up excitement for the gory journey of the Chainsaw Devil. Not only was President Manabu Otsuka present, but Vice President Hiroya Hasegawa also graced the event. Our team at egmr.ru had the opportunity to discuss not just the upcoming movie, but potential plans for a second season and whether “Chain Saw Man” will continue as a series of films or television episodes.

Initially, Otsuka delved straight into discussing the rationale for launching Chainsaw Man as a movie instead of immediately proceeding with season two. The reasoning being, “We believe that the original work by creator Tatsuki Fujimoto, specifically the Reze Arc, is ideally suited for film. The cinematography, action sequences, and explosive scenes are more impactful in this format. Moreover, we feel it’s the best approach to ensure the story reaches fans in the most expansive way possible.

As a passionate fan, I can’t help but wonder about the potential continuation of our beloved anime after Denji’s epic battle with the Bomb Devil. The truth is, we don’t have a clear picture yet of what lies ahead. Just like how we approached Reze’s storyline, we’ll take a close look at the next chapter and make decisions based on that. Whether it’s a film or another season, we haven’t made up our minds just yet. The excitement is building, but we’re still in the planning stages for now!

Chainsaw Man Explodes

It’s not a walk in the park to transition from the television screen to the movie theater. During our conversation with MAPPA executives, we probed about the main hurdle they encountered when planning to bring Chainsaw Devil to cinemas this fall. Their response might surprise you.

When it comes to producing an animation for cinema rather than TV, it’s essentially the same content but with significantly more emphasis on the sound quality, as everything must be tailored specifically for a theater setting. Moving from television to cinema is a much greater challenge in terms of audio production. It requires additional effort, but we believe that the fans will appreciate the end result. Kensuke Ushio, our composer, is finding this project particularly challenging due to the increased workload it entails. However, we are confident that the fans will find pleasure in both the animation and its accompanying soundtrack.

If you’re not already familiar, Kensuke Ushio is quite well-known in the realm of anime. As a composer for Chainsaw Man’s first season, he’s built an impressive resume with various anime series in the past. His TV credits include Dandadan, Orb: On the Movements of The Earth, Heavenly Delusion, among others. In the world of anime films, he has contributed to Cocoon, The Colors Within, and Japan Sinks’ Theatrical Edition.

What is The Reze Arc?

It would be challenging to imagine a more suitable Chainsaw Man storyline for a movie than the Reze Arc. The narrative introduces a fresh female character into Denji’s life, leading to an engaging love triangle as the main character is now faced with the choice between Reze and Makima. To complicate matters further, the emergence of the Bomb Devil, one of Denji’s strongest antagonists yet, adds an unexpected twist to the plot.

MAPPA still has numerous storylines and battles to cover in order to stay on par with the original material of Chainsaw Man, written by Tatsuki Fujimoto. With years’ worth of untold stories, it’s yet to be determined whether this gruesome shonen series will produce movies, TV seasons, or both. Regardless, there are plenty of intriguing devilish tales lined up for the future.
