Brenda Song was living the sweet life as a kid, and she wants her sons to have the same.
For her children, Dakota, 4, and Carson, 2, she and her fiancé, Macaulay Culkin, focus on simple holiday traditions. In an interview with TopMob News, she explained that they always get a photo with the mall Santa, a tradition she enjoyed as a child. They’ve been doing this every year since her oldest son was a baby.
Brenda also includes her parents, who live nearby, in the holiday fun with her young children.
Our family has a tradition of putting up our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. We spend the whole day decorating it, and we always do the lights ourselves. My dad brings over a ladder, and we spend the entire weekend getting all the Christmas lights up.
Brenda also wants her children to enjoy a game she loved growing up with her brother, Timmy Song: iSpy. It’s especially useful when they’re traveling for the holidays.
Brenda explained that growing up in Sacramento meant frequent trips to Los Angeles for auditions. To pass the time on those drives, she and her brother would play ‘I Spy.’ Years later, she found herself playing the same game with her oldest son, and it became a cherished tradition.
And now it has become one of Dakota and Carson’s favorite travel rituals.
“They love the game,” Brenda added. “We play it all the time, everywhere we go.”

As the holidays approach, Brenda is excited about using both iSpy and her new Citi/AAdvantage Globe card. The card, which came out in October, offers great perks for people who love to travel, and Brenda thinks it’s a perfect fit for her family’s active lifestyle.
She shared that her family enjoys visiting Disneyland during the holiday season, and this year they’re excited to be spending the holidays in New York for the very first time.

And, yes, the Social Network alum and Home Alone star are ready for their kids to get lost in New York.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to be sharing the magic of New York City with my kids for the first time, especially during the holidays! It’s a truly special experience. First stop? Rockefeller Center, of course! Seeing that tree is an absolute must – it’s just breathtaking.
Brenda is convinced her kids will love it more than a lovely cheese pizza all to themselves.
She explained they attempted to describe it as an enormous Christmas tree, but wasn’t sure they fully understood. She’s looking forward to seeing how they react when they finally see it.
