Although Friends is still incredibly popular, its spin-off, Joey, wasn’t as successful. It only lasted for two seasons, and the last eight episodes of the second season weren’t even shown on US television after the show was cancelled.
After being unavailable for 19 years, all episodes of Joey, including the last eight, are now available to stream. You can watch them all on the Friends YouTube channel.
NBC first cancelled the show’s regular Thursday night broadcasts in December 2005, only airing one more episode on a Tuesday in March. The final eight episodes weren’t shown on NBC, but they did air on television networks in other countries.
The show followed Joey Tribbiani, played again by Matt LeBlanc, as he moved from New York to Hollywood to pursue bigger and better acting opportunities.

The show also featured Drea de Matteo as Adrian’s anxious sister, Gina, and Paulo Costanzo as his incredibly smart, twenty-year-old nephew, Michael.
Kevin S. Bright, an executive producer and director on Friends, explained why the show’s spin-off didn’t succeed after it was cancelled.
In an interview with The Age, he explained that Joey on Friends was known for having many romantic interests, but audiences loved watching his adventures. More importantly, Joey was a reliable and supportive friend – someone you could always depend on.
Joey’s character was developed into someone who was unsuccessful and unable to form relationships. He came across as sad and helpless, and I believed this was a negative change, but my concerns weren’t acknowledged.
After Friends ended, Matt LeBlanc starred in shows like Episodes and Man with a Plan. He also hosted the popular car show Top Gear for four seasons.
