Chloe Sullivan’s Smallville Staple Becomes Superman Canon in New DC Series

Chloe Sullivan was a popular character on the TV show Smallville, and fans wanted to see her included in the DC Comics universe. She even had a short romance with Jimmy Olsen in the comics. However, after the 2011 reboot of the comics and issues surrounding actress Allison Mack, the character disappeared. Now, a recent comic book is bringing back a significant element from the Smallville show that was closely tied to Chloe Sullivan.

This element reappears in Superman Unlimited #7 by Dan Slott, Jeremy Adams, and Lucas Meyer. The story focuses on Jon Kent as he assists John Henry Irons and Lana Lang with moving Steelworks to Smallville. Jon quickly learns that his mother, Lois Lane, wants him to remain in Smallville and manage the new Daily Planet office there.

Lois believes Jon needs a life beyond being Superman and encourages him to pursue his potential as a reporter. Jon is hesitant, worried Smallville won’t offer much to cover, but he decides to give it a shot. He quickly realizes that despite its quiet appearance, Smallville is actually full of strange and unusual events.

Superman Jon Kent has a new “Wall of Weird”

As a film buff, I’m really getting into this story! It follows Jon as he arrives in Smallville and starts digging into the disappearance of some local miners. But things quickly get… strange. He’s also dealing with reports of a ghostly cow and trying to figure out this weird noise that’s been bothering people. What I love is how Jon connects all these seemingly random events – he’s got this incredible wall covered in clues and photos. Any Smallville fan will instantly recognize it as the ‘Wall of Weird,’ even if the story doesn’t explicitly call it that. It’s a brilliant way to show how everything is connected!

When Chloe Sullivan was a freshman, she started the “Wall of Weird” – a project for the Smallville High paper where she tracked all the strange events happening in town. Even after she and Clark Kent graduated, they jokingly called unusual occurrences “Wall of Weird material” while investigating mysteries. Now, it looks like Jon Kent is carrying on that tradition, exploring the odd things happening around Smallville.

Superman Unlimited #7 is now available at comic shops everywhere.
