As a huge fan of Vampire Survivors, I was so excited to hear the creator hinting at a sequel! This game blew up when it launched back in 2022, quickly becoming one of the most popular indie titles around. They’ve been constantly adding new content – tons of expansions and DLC, including some really cool crossovers with games like Balatro, Among Us, and even Castlevania! It felt inevitable that we’d get more Vampire Survivors games eventually, and it sounds like Vampire Survivors 2 might actually be happening!
So, I was reading Xbox Wire and apparently the creator of Vampire Survivors, Luca Galante, let slip that they’re actually working on a real sequel over at Poncle! He didn’t give any details yet, though. He did want to make it clear that Vampire Crawlers, the new deckbuilder, isn’t the sequel – it’s more like one of several spin-off games they’re planning. Basically, they’ve got big plans for the Vampire Survivors universe, and a proper sequel is still on the table, it’s just not ready to be announced yet.
Galante described this new game as a continuation of the style of Vampire Survivors, and hopes it will be the first of many similar games. The goal is to use the key elements that made Vampire Survivors successful – things like being easy to pick up, instantly fun, cheap to buy, highly replayable, and visually exciting – and apply them to different game genres. While they are working on a true sequel to Vampire Survivors, Galante says they aren’t ready to share any details about that project yet.

It’s widely expected that Vampire Survivors 2 is being developed. The first game was a huge hit, earning tens of millions of dollars despite its low price of just $5, and it even created a new style of game that others are now trying to copy. Because of this success, a sequel would likely be very popular and another big win for the developers, Poncle.
The next big installment in the series, currently titled Vampire Crawlers, is expected to come out in 2026. It’s being developed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one.
