The current season of I’m a Celebrity is in full swing, and we’re already seeing who the leaders are in camp, as well as strong friendships and popular contestants.

The show’s cast is still incredibly strong, with stars like Martin Kemp, Aitch, and Ruby Wax joining the jungle last weekend. And now, things are getting even more exciting with the arrival of two new contestants! Vogue Williams and Tom Read Wilson were revealed as the latecomers on Wednesday’s episode and made their first appearance on last night’s show (November 20th).

Instead of going directly to the main camp, the pair will be staying in a luxurious cabin built high in the trees, called The Leader’s Lodge.

While we’re watching to see how the new arrivals change things at camp, let’s get you acquainted with Tom Read Wilson.

Tom Read Wilson is a British TV personality, actor, and singer who is widely recognized for his role as the receptionist and client coordinator on the E4 reality show Celebs Go Dating. He’s been with the show since 2016.

Wilson is a professionally trained singer and a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music. He appeared as a contestant on The Voice UK in 2016, and has performed in numerous pantomimes and musicals. His recent roles include playing Squidward in the musical version of SpongeBob SquarePants.

This isn’t Wilson’s debut in reality television – he’s also competed on Celebrity Mastermind and Richard Osman’s House of Games.

People often think I’m not very adventurous, but I actually have a daring side! I’ve done things like mountain climbing and abseiling, and I’m hoping to show everyone that I can be really intrepid in the jungle. It’s not a side of me people usually get to see.

I’m a very supportive person and genuinely happy for others when they succeed. On the downside, I tend to hum or sing quite a bit. Also, I sometimes get stuck overthinking my word choices, which I realize can be annoying for those around me, so I’m trying to work on that.

I’m a huge fan of actresses like Juliet Stevenson, Clare Higgins, and Celia Imrie – I admire them so much from the audience.

What has Tom Read Wilson said about joining I’m a Celebrity 2025?

Tom admits he was initially terrified when asked to participate. However, he has a personal rule: if fear is the only thing holding you back, you should do it anyway. He acknowledges he’s a naturally anxious person and worries about his mental agility while in camp.

I enjoy keeping my mind active at home – I do a crossword puzzle daily and always have a book I’m reading. I’m a little concerned that if I don’t regularly challenge myself, my mental sharpness will decline! Sometimes I can be a bit forgetful, and I definitely don’t want to lose any brain cells!

I recently spoke with Tom, and his approach to overcoming fear is really interesting. He shared his personal motto: ‘You have to do it despite being afraid.’ What really gets under his skin isn’t the thing itself, but the uncertainty of it. He explained that when you haven’t directly experienced something – like, say, encountering a rodent – your imagination runs wild and makes it seem much worse. He admitted he’s never actually come face-to-face with a rodent, and that lack of experience fuels his anxiety.
