Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available on the new Nintendo Switch 2 starting December 2, bringing the game to even more players. In addition, previous Assassin’s Creed games continue to be popular.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows has maintained strong sales and player numbers thanks to Ubisoft’s ongoing support, including free updates like the New Game+ mode. The release of the ‘Claws of Awaji’ content in September also helped keep players engaged with the game.
According to the company’s latest report, Assassin’s Creed Shadows saw a boost from the popular New Game+ mode, which added tougher challenges for players. The Claws of Awaji expansion, released on September 16th, also brought players back to the game, with many praising it as a strong addition that included unique boss battles and a compelling atmosphere. The game is expected to reach even more players when it launches on the Nintendo Switch 2 in December.
Ubisoft is optimistic about the future of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, especially after the recent release of the Valley of Memory update. They’ve received positive feedback so far, and player activity has doubled, bringing the total number of players to 10 million.
The company reported strong performance for the Assassin’s Creed series, The Division 2, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch release of Star Wars Outlaws. However, they noted that Rainbow Six Siege has recently experienced a decline in players and spending. This is believed to be due to a temporary increase in cheating, and the company says they’re actively working on a solution.
During the earnings report, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot also discussed their €1.16 billion deal with Tencent. This deal will give Tencent a minority ownership stake in Ubisoft’s new studio, Vantage Studios, and is expected to be finalized soon.
I’m really excited to hear that the deal with Tencent is finally happening! Ubisoft just announced in their latest report that everything’s set and it should be finalized in the next few days. This €1.16 billion investment is going to be a huge relief for Ubisoft financially, and it’s going to let them focus on growing their new Vantage Studios IP. Plus, they’ll be able to invest in other cool projects and keep making improvements across the company. It sounds like great news for the future of Ubisoft and the games they make!
