Cardi B’s latest piece of jewelry is worth more than money.
Following the birth of her fourth child on November 4th – her first with partner Stefon Diggs – the rapper, known for her hit song “Bodak Yellow,” made sure to capture a lasting memory of the special moment.
Cardi B had a special piece of jewelry made for her son: a gold pendant shaped like a heart, created from his umbilical cord. The pendant was designed by Juliane Marie Corona, who owns the company Mommy Made Encapsulations.
On November 20th, Juliane posted a video to Instagram (on the account @Encapsulation Specialist) showing how she transforms an umbilical cord into a heart shape, then preserves it by drying and coating it with gold chrome.
Juliane shared a video and wrote about how she preserved her baby’s umbilical cord, calling it a cherished memento of where their journey began. She explained that the umbilical cord represents the vital first connection between a mother and her child – the source of nourishment and protection throughout pregnancy.
It’s always a privilege to create these special keepsakes, but we were especially thrilled to make one for Cardi and her baby again. Being able to transform such precious moments into something tangible and lasting is truly rewarding.
Cardi B didn’t just save her baby’s umbilical cord. She also had her placenta preserved as a print and turned a portion of it into capsules she can take, continuing a practice she also did after the birth of her third child in 2024 with Juliane.
Juliane shared a video and wrote, “Round two with the queen!” She thanked Cardi B for letting her work with her placenta again, joking that it’s become a tradition for them.
Cardi B spent around $615 on postpartum services. This included $500 for placenta encapsulation, plus $50 for her umbilical cord to be preserved and $65 for a placenta print.
Cardi B is celebrating her new baby with both special keepsakes and adorable photos. She recently shared a series of pictures announcing the birth of her son, who she shares with Stefon. Cardi is also mom to Kulture, 7, Wave, 4, and Blossom, 14 months, with her husband, Offset, from whom she is currently separated.
Along with the photos released on November 19th, Cardi B was seen holding her baby boy, whose face was not shown. She was wearing a blue robe and cradling him lovingly. Other pictures showed Stefon Diggs sweetly watching his newborn son.
Revealing his birthday, Cardi wrote alongside a series of emojis, “11/4.”
For the singer, having her fourth child has also coincided with another new era in life.
She announced on Instagram on November 19th that she’d released new music and a new album. She also shared the exciting news of a new baby, saying the child gives her even more motivation to be her best self and to love and nurture her children fully.
