Miss Mexico is celebrating the win of a lifetime.
Fátima Bosch Fernández, 25, was named Miss Universe on November 21st. Despite a challenging experience – including public criticism from a pageant official before the event – she remains thrilled with her win.
On November 21st, she posted on Instagram, saying that the future God has planned for you is unstoppable – neither jealousy, fate, nor chance can alter it.
Fátima also posted many photos from the event, showing her with the other Miss Universe contestants celebrating her victory.
Just two weeks before she was supposed to receive the crown, Fátima was publicly criticized by pageant official Nawat Itsaragrisi. He called her “dumb” for not completing a required part of the competition and had security remove her from the event. In protest, the other contestants walked out as she was being escorted away.
After what happened, Fátima said she wouldn’t be intimidated and would continue to defend herself.
In a recent interview, she shared on Instagram that she’s determined to speak out and isn’t afraid to use her voice. She emphasized that she feels empowered and has important things to communicate to her country.

She explained that she wasn’t there to be simply presented or styled. Her purpose was to speak for all women and girls who stand up for what they believe in, and to assure her country of her unwavering dedication to that mission.
People in Fátima’s home country, Mexico, are particularly proud of her victory. President Claudia Sheinbaum specifically praised how gracefully Fátima overcame challenges during the competition.
The president told reporters, according to NBC News, that this situation shows the importance of women speaking up. She believes women are most powerful and impressive when they actively participate and advocate for their rights.

The Miss Universe pageant faced multiple issues this year, including controversy surrounding Fátima. Two judges also stepped down, with one claiming the competition was fixed and the other suggesting they would sue the organizers, according to NBC News.
Despite the challenges, Fátima and the other top finishers—Praveener Singh of Thailand, who was first runner-up, and Stephany Adriana Abasali Nasser of Venezuela, who placed second runner-up—are still celebrating their achievements.
In a recent Instagram post celebrating Fátima’s victory, Miss Universe shared that she had dreamed of this moment for years and was overjoyed to see it finally happen.
