Just before he died in Texas on November 6th, Dallas Cowboys defensive end was involved in a high-speed chase with police. Reports now show he reached speeds of 145 mph or higher during the pursuit, according to police documents obtained by several news sources.

On November 5th, at approximately 10:33 p.m., a Texas Department of Public Safety officer noticed Kneeland speeding, which led to a police chase, according to the official report.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, the athlete was seen making dangerous lane changes and driving over 145 miles per hour while speeding past other vehicles during the police chase.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 24-year-old Kneeland fled after a car crash and was missing for several hours. Troopers and Frisco police found his body in the early morning of November 6th.

During their investigation, Frisco police discovered the football player had previously talked about suicide, as stated in a press release issued that day.

Authorities say the official cause and manner of death are still awaiting a report from the Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

After Kneeland’s death, his girlfriend, Catalina Mancera—who is expecting their child—posted a touching message remembering him.

My heart is absolutely shattered. I saw a Facebook post from her on November 10th, and it just broke me. She wrote about how much her baby means to her – that they are her everything. She said she’ll love them forever, calling them her beautiful angel. It’s just… devastating to read.

Two days after the news, Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer also paid tribute to the player and announced the team had created a fund to support Mancera’s children with any related costs.

In a statement released on November 12th, he explained they want to provide lifelong support for her and their child, emphasizing how important this is to him and the team.

Marshawn Kneeland‘s football career started long before his time at the NFL.

I was absolutely blown away watching Marshawn play his senior year! He was a force on both sides of the ball. As a defensive player, he racked up an incredible 110 tackles and 8 sacks. But he wasn’t just a defender – he also played offense and snagged 20 receptions for 330 yards and scored five touchdowns! It was amazing to watch him dominate.

After finishing school, Marshawn went to Western Michigan University and played football for four years, finishing with an impressive 149 tackles and 12.5 sacks.

The athlete was known for his incredible dedication while at school. He spent as much time as possible practicing and studying game film, which really set him apart.

According to his coach, David Denham, that’s when he really began to stand out from the rest of the players.

The Dallas Cowboys drafted Marshawn in the second round of 2024, and team owner Jerry Jones famously told him, “We’re going to put a star on that helmet.”

The young athlete was determined to savor every part of the experience. He described draft night as a unique opportunity, saying, “I’m just really excited to be here.”

Marshawn carried his strong work ethic with him when he joined the NFL and began preparing for his rookie season.

As for how he was approaching the NFL, Marshawn just wanted to stick to his game plan.

After being drafted, the player said he plans to continue playing the same way he always has: with a lot of energy, speed, and physicality. Ultimately, his success will depend on making impactful plays during the game.

During his time with the Texas team, the 24-year-old player participated in 18 games, starting four of them. He finished with a total of 26 tackles and one sack.

Just days before his death, Marshawn scored his first touchdown in the league.

According to his agent, Jonathan Perzley, Marshawn Beast Mode Lynch gave his all to football, pouring his heart into every play and practice. Perzley expressed that losing someone with Lynch’s skill, personality, and kindness was incredibly painful.
