My Hero Academia Officially Ends a Fight Nearly 10 Years in the Making

The anime series My Hero Academia is nearing its conclusion, and the most recent episode wrapped up a significant battle that fans have been waiting for almost a decade. The show began nine years ago, introducing viewers to Izuku Midoriya and his journey to become a hero. Throughout the series, we’ve watched Izuku develop his skills and face challenges, culminating in a showdown with his most powerful enemy yet. Similar to Izuku inheriting the mantle from the top hero, his opponent, Tomura Shigaraki, was trained by the greatest villain of all, All For One.

Throughout My Hero Academia, Deku and Shigaraki have been on a collision course, and the current season has finally brought them into direct conflict. The war between heroes and villains has escalated, revealing that Shigaraki was intentionally holding back, allowing All For One to resurrect himself. Fortunately, the latest episode has brought this long struggle to an end, with Deku defeating both All For One and Tomura Shigaraki.

My Hero Academia Finally Defeats All For One With Shigaraki’s Help

The latest episode of My Hero Academia starts right after the shocking reveal: All For One’s consciousness has awakened inside Shigaraki’s body. He explains that Deku stopping Shigaraki’s attack without killing him created an opening, allowing All For One’s last bit of power to take control. Even though Bakugo defeated All For One, he ultimately succeeded in possessing his successor. However, this takeover isn’t without its complications.

Thanks to Deku’s determination, One For All isn’t the complete power All For One wanted. While the previous users of One For All sacrificed themselves, weakening the abilities, the core power still exists. This plays a crucial role in All For One’s defeat, as his body begins to fight against the forced energy. Deku, using the last of his own One For All, delivers a final attack that completes the process. This also affects Shigaraki within All For One, allowing him to land the finishing blow.

My Hero Academia’s Final Fight Isn’t the End

From the very beginning of My Hero Academia, Deku and Shigaraki were destined to clash. In the end, Deku triumphs not by destroying Shigaraki, but by helping him understand the wrongfulness of his actions. Though saving Shigaraki completely might have been impossible, Deku still achieves a victory by stopping his destructive path. While the war is over, this is just one chapter in Deku’s journey and the story as a whole.

The final season of My Hero Academia will conclude with just three more episodes, set to air in Japan with the last episode releasing on December 13th. These final episodes will cover the remaining chapters of Kohei Horikoshi’s manga, focusing on what happens right after the major war events. While the story is nearing its end, the anime franchise will continue beyond this season.
