How Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton Are Celebrating the Holiday Season

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are not making any more great escapes this year.

The couple, married in 2021, is having a quiet holiday season at home in Oklahoma, according to a source at TopMob News.

I’ve noticed Gwen and Blake have been keeping a really low profile lately, which is understandable given everything. As a fan, I was a little surprised they didn’t attend the Country Music Awards on November 19th, but I heard they decided to just enjoy watching it at home with the kids – Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo – this year. It’s nice to know they’re prioritizing family time, especially with Gwen being a mom to those three amazing boys and navigating things with Gavin Rossdale.

It’s not surprising that former contestants on The Voice are choosing to spend the holidays at Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s Oklahoma ranch. Blake has mentioned that Gwen particularly loves their property in the South, and he told TopMob News in 2023 that she’s embracing a more down-to-earth lifestyle. He said, “I’m not going to say that she’s become this country girl, but I just think we’re starting to see a different side of Gwen.”

A member of the band No Doubt recently explained why their Oklahoma home is important to their relationship.

Gwen, 56, recently told The Guardian that she and Blake bonded over gardening. They share a home in Oklahoma, and during the pandemic, they discovered an old building on their property. There, they found some purple irises that had been planted long ago and somehow managed to survive for centuries.

Gwen truly believes she met the “Boys ‘Round Here” singer, now 49, because of fate, especially since it happened when she was going through a difficult time after her 2016 divorce from Gavin.

She described meeting her husband as a fresh start. After her family broke up, she felt completely devastated and wondered how she could move forward. But she believes he was sent into her life to give her love and help her heal.

Naturally, Blake has echoed his wife’s sentiment.

He described how they met during difficult times in both of their lives. He said she saved him from hitting rock bottom, explaining it felt like he was falling off a cliff and she was the hand that reached out to catch him.

Gwen told Ryan Seacrest in November 2015 that she found someone attractive, but also admitted it was strange they’d both experienced the same difficult situation simultaneously. She explained she’d been deeply comforted by many people simply sharing their own stories with her – not necessarily in confidence, but just offering their experiences, which helped her gain a new perspective and heal.

I always say, when you meet someone truly exceptional, it just hits you, right? That’s exactly how Blake Lively felt about Ryan Reynolds! Back in March 2018, on Today, she playfully admitted, ‘How can I not be [in love]? She is the greatest. She is the greatest.’ It’s so sweet to see them so head-over-heels, and honestly, who wouldn’t feel that way about someone they think is the greatest?

After a painful breakup—at least for me—you need to express your feelings and want others to understand what you’re going through. I was really struggling, at my lowest point, and Gwen Stefani helped me through it. It’s hard to imagine anyone else who could truly relate to the experience of a very public divorce from a fellow musician, as she had been through it too.” —Blake Shelton, as told to Billboard in July 2016.

Growing up in Orange County, California, I was used to the beach, which is very different from the Midwest. So, experiencing ranch life in Oklahoma has been completely new and wonderful for me. It’s something I never had growing up, and it’s been amazing. —Gwen on Jimmy Kimmel Live in August 2020

Gwen shared with Ellen DeGeneres how much she and her kids adore Blake, saying everyone is instantly charmed by him. She admitted she often finds herself thinking about how much they all love him, and how wonderful it would be to marry him.

Gwen Stefani says her style has become much more feminine recently, which she attributes to being in a loving relationship with a very masculine partner. She explains that during her time with No Doubt and even into her thirties, she didn’t consider herself particularly sexy and identified more as a tomboy, rarely even carrying a purse. (From an interview with InStyle magazine, July 2018)

Gwen was surprised when Blake was asked to do a photoshoot after being named People‘s Sexiest Man Alive. He’s usually reluctant to pose for pictures, but she immediately encouraged him, telling him he should do it because she finds him very attractive.

Oh my gosh, Blake is just… everything! I heard Gwen talking about him on the radio, and she totally gets it. She said he’s magical, and that’s the perfect word. It’s like he just draws everyone in, wherever he is. And seriously, the talent? Unreal. She even said he’s like a unicorn, and honestly, that’s not an exaggeration at all! I completely agree with everything she said.

Blake Shelton tweeted in June 2018 that watching Gwen Stefani rehearse reminded him how many incredible songs she’s written. He strongly encouraged people to see her Las Vegas show if they could get tickets.

Blake shared on Good Dish in March 2022 that someone saved him from a really low point in his life. He described it as being rescued from a fall, saying this person always had his back and provided a feeling of unwavering support – something he’d never experienced before. He called it ‘the greatest feeling.’

Gwen shared that since childhood, she dreamed of having a loving marriage and family, like her parents. When that dream didn’t come true, she had to rebuild and create a new one. She sees meeting Blake as the turning point that made that possible, calling it a true miracle. She told People magazine this in November 2024.

Gwen described meeting her husband as a turning point, a fresh start after a difficult period when her family broke up. She told The Guardian in November 2024 that it felt devastating, and she wondered how she could recover, but she believes meeting him was a blessing that allowed her to find love again.
