Ben Stiller recently shared positive words about the upcoming third season of Severance. The sci-fi series, created by Vince Gilligan and debuting on Apple TV on November 7th, has quickly gained popularity.
After four episodes of its first season, Ben Stiller shared his positive reaction to the show Pluribus on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. He simply posted the show’s name followed by a “raising hands” emoji, signaling that he’s enjoying it. You can see his post below.
Ben Stiller is one of many who are impressed with Gilligan’s latest show, his first project since creating hits like Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Critics are overwhelmingly positive – the show has a remarkable 99% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 108 reviews.
Featuring Rhea Seehorn from Better Call Saul, the show centers on Carol Sturka, a struggling author who unexpectedly becomes humanity’s last chance when a strange phenomenon forces everyone to be happy. Karolina Wydra, Carlos-Manuel Vesga, and Miriam Shor also star in the first season, which has nine episodes.

In a review for ScreenRant, Greg MacArthur gave the series Pluribus a score of 8 out of 10. He appreciated how the central mystery developed and the show’s thought-provoking themes, though he noted the pacing could be a little slow at times. He then wrote:
Pluribus excels at understanding people and today’s world, even after a major shift in how we think. It recognizes our deep-seated need to defend ourselves – not just from physical dangers, but also from things we see as threats, like change itself, whether that change is positive or negative.
Viewers generally seem to be enjoying Pluribus too. It has a good score of 78% on Rotten Tomatoes’ Popcornmeter, though that’s lower than the 99% rating from critics.
The good initial reaction is encouraging for Pluribus season 2, which is already planned as part of a two-season commitment. If the show does well with viewers, there’s potential for even more seasons on Apple TV.
Apple TV+ is building a strong lineup of science fiction series. With a third season of the critically acclaimed Severance expected in 2027, the platform could have two slow-burn hits, as Severance’s 95% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes is just behind Pluribus. These shows join other popular Apple TV+ series like Foundation, Silo, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, and Dark Matter.
It’s still unclear how viewers will react to Pluribus as the rest of season one is released, but Ben Stiller’s positive comments could help the show gain traction, especially considering the success of Severance and the excitement for its next season.
